According to the bible Paul said it would happen soon. But that was 2000 years ago so you can base your own opinion off of that

The word "rapture" does not occur in the Bible. The concept of the Rapture, though, is clearly taught in Scripture. The Rapture of the church is the event in which God removes all believers from the earth in order to make way for His righteous judgment to be poured out on the earth during the Tribulation period. The Rapture is described primarily in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 and 1 Corinthians 15:50-54. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 describes the Rapture as God resurrecting all believers who have died, giving them glorified bodies, and then departing the earth with those believers who were still alive, who have also been given glorified bodies. "For the Lord Himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever" (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17).
1 Corinthians 15:50-54 focuses on the instantaneous nature of the Rapture and on the glorified bodies we will receive. "Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed - in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed" (1 Corinthians 15:51-52). The Rapture is the glorious event we should all be longing for. We will finally be free from sin. We will be in God's presence forever. There is far too much debate over the meaning and scope of the Rapture. This is not God’s intent. Rather, in regards to the Rapture, God wants us to “encourage each other with these words.”

I go to a private Christian school and all the teachers are convinced it will happen during our lifetime. All the signs are here as predicted in the Bible... "wars and rumors of wars" (uh hello Iraq, rumors of a war in Israel)... "increasing natural disasters" (kinda hard to miss that one... all the earthquakes lately, the tsunami, katrina, etc etc etc), a general "falling away from the faith" (we cant even say the word Jesus in public schools anymore, even though 250 years ago Christianity was the foundation of our country)... etc etc. There are 12 signs I believe, you can google them.
We are currently in the 'period of the gentiles'... Its interesting that God promised the Jews a certain amount of time (something like 500, i dont know) and all but seven years of that time was used before we entered into the period of the gentiles (nonjews)... so if it was 500 years He promised, that means he already gave 493 of them and there are seven left. ...The Rapture is supposed to kick off the final days which will be seven years (uh hello... the last seven years God promised to the Jews). That's why many people think the rapture occurs is because the period of the Gentiles is over so God may remove them from the earth and focus on the Jews for the last seven years.
Honestly, yeah it probably will happen in our lifetime. But I truly don't care. If the rapture happened tomorrow, I would be overjoyed. I can't WAIT to go to heaven!

If your an Aethiest, why do you care for it so much?
If yrou worried it means you doubt yoru beliefs, Accept Christianity and Christ into yoru heart and you will need not have to worry about the rapture, for then fi it does occur sometime in our life you will have no worries.
And also, no one knows the truth I believe, it is not for us to know as mere humans to know when and especially why God chooses a certain time.
god Bless.

There is no such thing as the rapture. It cracks me up that people who are so "Biblical" and down on churches that aren't "Bible churches" come up with thier own un-Biblical doctrines. Please don't be taken in by it-- when the end of times comes, we will all suffer together.
