theres a very nice, very pretty girl that i know from school.... and her friends have told me she likes me.
we're friends and sit at the same lunch table, but she doesnt really talk to me a lot. i start the conversations and she'll give like one word answers. people always complain about that problem.... I WANT THAT PROBLEM..... how do i get her to talk more?

I used to be the same thing. she is either afraid of saying the wrong thing, has a low self-esteem, what people will thing of her answer, she doesn't want to get herself into to deep, or/and she just cant think of what to say.
just.. compliment her (not to much), be polite and gentle (she sounds like the type who likes a polite, sweet and gentle guy), and be funny, make her laugh. if you do those things.. i am almost postive she'll like/love it

even if she only gives you a one-word answer when you ask a question, you can still build upon the conversation by telling her a story that relates to the question you asked.
to make it even better, tell a funny story that might allow her to loosen up a bit and talk some more.
also, lots of "shy" people really aren't as shy as some people think that they are... you just have to get them into a different environment. So instead of just trying to talk to her at school/lunch, ask her if she'd like to go do something fun like rollerblading or bowling. Then she might loosen up and you could find that she actually has a lot to say!

I am sure if her friends know that she likes you, and she knows that you know....she is just really embarrassed by talking in front of everyone. Maybe you should ask her to do something with just you. Even if it's come to your house for dinner, ask your parents first. That way after dinner you can watch a movie, and maybe mom and dad will give you some private time alone with her. It may be easier for her to open up with out all the attention from the group of friends.

shes shy so say don't be shy spill. lol crack a joke or sumthing that will make her laugh then she will feel like ok hes cool

She is shy SO ASK HER TO GO GET SOMETHING TO DRINK AND SHE WILL PROBABLY OPEN UP SHE NEEDS TO GET TO KNOW YOU BETTER GOOD LUCK

just find out stuff that shes in to and talk about it w/ her! lik i hav sum guy frends and i hav different things that i talk to them about.....u just gotta know wat a girl likes!
