Probably an accident, after a forest fire or a piece of meat fell into a fire and smelled SO GOOD!

I want to know who first put meat, salt, and onion in a pot and called it "stew."

The caveman dropped his cavemanclub in the fire, he reached into the fire to retrieve it and burned his fingers. Out of instinct he put his fingers in his mouth and discovered it tasted good. He then cooked and ate his cavewife and cavekids. When they were gone he was still hungry so he started eating animals. So there you have it!
I have never heard GOD complain about cooked meat. If that were all He had to worry about it would be GREAT!

The earliest evidence for control of fire by humans, in the form of fires at Swartkrans, South Africa and at Chesowanja, in Kenya, suggests that it may possibly have been in use there as early as about 1.4 or 1.5 million years ago.

Humans were scavengers before they were hunters. Many scientists believe this is how humans stumbled on cooked flesh. Natural fires are a plausible source. Humans preferred charred meat to raw & scientist believe once humans controlled fire they naturally cooked their meat.

At this point & time in history humans were all Atheists, not even aware of the God concept.

Once man knew how to tame fire and use it to keep warm, I don't think they found it scary anymore. I'm sure they experimentally threw lots of things on a fire, its not like they had any other real toys to play with.

Open4one It was goat herders who discovered cheese. They would use the stomach of a goat to store and transport milk, and it has a chemical in the stomach lining called retin which turned the milk to cheese. Once they were hungry enough I'm sure someone would have tried it. Try not buying groceries for a while and see how creative you get in cooking food.

Man probably spent some time as a scavenger, so the meat left over after a fire would have been a interesting treat. An interesting aside, ever notice the different kinds of rotten food that we eat? For example sour kraut, cheese, sour cream, butter, kim chee, aged meat, etc.

Fire wasn't scary once he learned how to control it. More than likely he was hungry and found a carcass after a forest fire and said, "Hey that would be really good with some barbecue sauce!" The rest is Pre-History!

first of all cavemen were never there. so God I am sure doen't approve of people saying that we were. God is the creator of all the univers he created fire and he created plants and animals. He also gave us the knowledge to eat those animals. People also did not come from animals or a big bang they came from the one true God. But I am sure God approves of cooking and eating because it is talked about in the Bible. And again slater is right christians don't believe in cavemen... we believe that God created man from the dirt of the ground and woman from mans ribs.

More likely, some hungry folks were wandering across an area after a forest fire and found a half burned dead animal, so it smelled good and they tried it and LIKED IT. God planned it that way.
