It's a big myth that indoor cats are safe from fleas!!

Fleas can enter a house as easily as any bug, and they're likely to because they're looking for a meal. They're attracted to warmth i.e your central heating and yours and your animal's body heat, as well as the CO2 you breath out - they recognise CO2 as a sign of life, i.e a meal. They are also attracted to vibrations caused by movement - flea eggs can lay dormant until stimulated to hatch by these things!!

Even if you never open your windows and hardly ever open your doors, fleas can still enter through any crack. You need to flea treat your cat, and you need to be aware that you can't find effective treatments at pet stores and supermarkets - these places aren't licensed to sell the proper stuff.

Go in to a vets and get something like Frontline for your cat. Also get a spray for your house.

EDIT: Yes, they can be brought in on someone's clothes, but why has no one on here remembered that fleas have LEGS and are quite capable of using them to stroll through a door or window, they don't need transportation to do it!!

Wildlife has fleas (rabbits, squirrels,etc.). If you have a dog that goes outside, could bring fleas in. You could bring them in on your clothes.

You'll need a RX flea preventative (dont use the OTC stuff, it can be especially harmful in cats - look it up on the epa website (search for hartz). You need to use it for several months. A flea's lifecycle is much like a butterfly. An adult flea lays an egg, which hatches into a maggot (or larvae), which spins a coccoon and hatches out as an adult flea. NOTHING can kill the coccoon. NOTHING. Not Frontline, not Advantage, nor the Orkin man. This is why you'll need to apply the preventative for 4-6 months to eliminate the problem. If you want to prevent it altoghether, keep her on a preventative year round.

Yes, cats can get fleas from someone bringing them in on there pants. fleas have been really bad this year is what my vet has told me. Front line is the answer. I had a dog for 14 years, never got flea but once and never again.

Your pup gets fleas. Flea scientific care would not shop ALL fleas away to the element that your pup has genuinely no fleas on her. Your cat gets significant fleas as quickly as she is going outdoors besides if she's no longer secure. The fleas is genuinely no longer undesirable on your pup via fact which you have dealt with her. you do no longer could desire to bathe her. the two way shop the two pets on flea prevention via fact as quickly as fleas come across a house on your pets fur they develop right into a foul undertaking and sometime bring about emergency vet care. **EDIT: No it won't help to in common terms %. the cat up. Fleas are everywhere. you could no longer probable sidestep them outdoors. YOUR canines gets FLEAS. relax. I propose giving them the two flea meds NOW like I reported in the previous. it relatively is probably risky if the fleas are no longer precise dealt with. that's the duty that incorporates possessing and indoor puppy and out of doorways puppy. handle them the two the comparable no count number what.

Possibly from having someone bring them in...or an over night bag that was taken to another place and one jumped in...I would get revolution it is the best one out their it also helps clean the surroundings that your pets are in. and it kills all stages of the flea. It is worth the trip to the vets!

If you've got another animal that goes in and out, like a dog, that could be one way. If the fleas are in the yard, you could bring eggs or larvae in on your shoes. Sometimes the adults can jump in from the yard on their own.

Somebody brought them in.
They can live on people, or in carpet, or in bedding, ect. I like the liquid that you put a little drop on their skin. It has worked well for me. But you might have to wash everything washable, and use a flea preperation on the carpet and furniture. Dawn dishwashing liquid kills fleas.
If you try to wash your cat, wear weilding gloves!

Fleas don't only travel on animals.
You could have tracked them in from clothing, or just on your skin.(Gross I know, But it happens). That or you may have another pet, that goes outdoors?

But I'm pretty sure they were just tracked it.
No big deal, Just get some advantix, or frontline and you should be fine.

They could have been transported into your house on clothing or on any kind of material like rugs, blankets, duffle bags, etc.

Frontline or advantage usually do the trick if the problem isn't too bad.
