I never understood why it's culturally acceptable for men to date or marry younger women (take Tom Cruise for example), yet--even women--look down on women who date younger men. Demi Moore is mocked, yet the only problem people have with Tom is that he's crazy. Age is just a number, only mattering as much as you let it. Developmental age is far more important, as well as the feelings you have for the person in question.

I don't think it would really matter. I went to seven senior and junior proms my freshman year! In middle school I only dated guys in high school. People may give you **** for it, but if you are dating someone who is as mature as you, they would understand age doesn't matter.

yea, that's really not a huge difference -in fact it sounds just about perfect. I'm a junior this year and my b/f is in the airforce, he graduated in may which puts us at a 2 yr difference
*wait- i think i misunderstood... are you the one that's younger? like, the girls older? in that case it depends on the guy's maturity...

I dated a freshman when I was a senior. Of course, I met him outside of school and didn't know he was a freshman because he told me he was a junior.
Although, IF You like the guy.......who cares.....go for it.
When you're out of school 2 or 3 years ISN'T that big of a deal
and besides senior guys always date freshman and sophmore girls.......why shouldn't it be okay for you??

been a while since high school, but I dated people, not classes..
I looked for people on my maturity level, and if they were a year or two younger it didn't matter...

it happens all the time at my school and everywhere else! a lot of people who're dating have a few years age difference. and as people get older, it doesn't seem that big of a deal.

in my personal opinion, a guy dating a younger girl is perfectly acceptable. a girl dating a younger guy, however, strikes me as odd and slightly awkward.

i agree. DONT do it. if you are 18 it is rape. and im almost 100% positive her parents are not going to give consent for you to F*%^ her... find someone your own age or wait until she turns 18!! if you are really that interested in her you can date and not have intercourse until she is 18.. dont take the chance of being charged with child molestation. good luck!!
