Someone just asked a question, even though it wasn't really a question, about how they have accepted Jesus and God, and someone replied
"Then you are lost. A wasted life, chasing imaginary phantoms."
Is this uncalled for? If atheists are so free thinking, then why can't atheists like this one be more open minded and "live and let live" or live the expression "to each his own"??

"we don't have time to disclaim every sundry little frickin detail so you don't claim "generalizing" so get over it. if it's not you, then quit whining."
Did I generalize? I don't think so...even by just adding the word "some" stops the generalizing...it's not that hard to type an extra 4 letters!

Because we are disgusted with all the hate and strife your beliefs in religions have caused in the world. Have you read your bible? It is filled with hate and intolerance. But you follow this fairy tale with no proof other than itself like it was something that was proven. We accept that we don't know, but an all powerful sky dude is ludicrous in the face of the evidence. You accept what your parents and church told you while ignoring how disgusting your bible is. To converts, you just give up and go with the god thing to make you feel better so you don't have to accept responsibility for your life. Now that was a rant. At least it wasn't on tv asking our countrys poorest most desperate citizens to send money so they can be saved.

As a said before some atheists are genuinely nice, good people but most that I have come across are on a mission to disprove God exists. God is in a spiritual realm. Atheists have to physically see and have scientific proof on everything. Not the smartest scientist in the world can fathom God and the spiritual realm. When your spiritually alive through Christ you experience this [not through organized man made religion or the "right" church but through your own personal relationship with Christ] when your spiritually dead than there's nothing to believe in. Jesus knocks on the door of all our hearts and in my opinion the atheists that waste time trying to disprove God actually know deep down inside there is a God and he is knocking at the door of their heart so they waste all this energy going to Christian chat rooms and forums trying to disprove because they themselves are denying God. You just have to pray for these people. You know as a Christian we are in a spiritual battle but in a physical body. The atheist only sees the physical body and nothing beyond that.

The person is indeed lost, chasing imaginary phantoms, a wasted life. I agree completely. You live your life to better your surroundings, not to earn points for God and hope he includes you in his next big project.

It's too bad Christians can't live and let live too
But instead they are too busy trying to legislate their views unto everyone else, stamping "God" on everything including the money, etc. They have no private lives, everyone else's lives are deemed fodder for their manipulation.
This stuff always comes back to a chicken and egg issue: atheists didn't invent meddling. Reacting to it and defending the right to have others keep their nose out of your life is not what you perceive as the opposite of "live and let live" nor is it being "hate filled"
Theists created a situation
Atheists have been reacting to it ever since
Chicken and egg

Speaking the truth is hate filled? Telling people that a hell is waiting for them if they do not believe in imaginary master and to hate their whole family before they can join the hippi in eternal imaginary paradise is love filled?
Kind of double standard, isn't it?

Interesting- no matter who is sending the hate, everyone else gets all hate-filled over it. It's just a vicious cycle- I get mad at you because you're mad at me for what I think...
Who cares what someone think?? So long as that person behaves ethically and legally, what goes on in their head/heart shouldn't matter!

I find no need to be offensive or denigrate another's beliefs because I am secure in my beliefs. Sometimes people feel threatened by someone who is passionate about their religion, but then these same people are probably rude and aggressive about a lot of things.

I don't think it's uncalled for. They listed it in a public forum. That's what happens in a public forum, the public replies. Not everyone accepts Jesus and God. They should list that on a Christian site. That's not hateful. It's called reasoning.
