I don't think that you can, but I'm pretty sure you should call whoever is in CHARGE there and ask them.

It will depend on what state this person is in jail/Parisian. What the requirements are allowing marriage. Most states will not allow a violent, mentally disturbed or the like marry. It will also depend upon the CO in charge of his case. Your first step would be to call the jail/prison to see what the requirements are, if your loved one is allowed to marry, the state will determine the date and time. The marriage license will have to be purchased by you, with a special paper from the jail/prison. Then delivered to the jail/prison before the wedding. They like all their ducks in a row! It can be quite a hassle, and if you are out of state....even more so. You will most likely have to bring a minister or wedding officiate with you. The minister will also have to be cleared by the state. Yup, I have done 2 prison weddings, and I am very happy to say, both couples are doing well!

Why would you want to get married to someone who is in jail? Doesn't the fact that the person is in jail send up a red flag for you?
Even if we assume that said person is innocent and wrongly convicted, what kind of a married life do you expect to have with someone you can only see once or twice a month? What do you think life is going to be like after prison with someone who has a record and therefore will probably have a difficult time getting a job? Are you telling me that of all the people in the world that are single and available and looking for someone to settle down with, that a person who is in jail is your best shot at happiness?

I don't know exactly how it's done, but I know it can be done. You need to talk to the right people, like the head of the Department of Corrections. Sometimes they can arrange for a civil ceremony performed in the jail. But you might want to give some thought about waiting until the person is released from custody. Then you could have a "real" wedding with all the amenities, and with your family and friends present. Good luck and best wishes!

Well first find out if the person you want to marry will be out soon, because what's the point of getting married. Then find out by calling the county or the person that is in jail can find out by asking.

Why do you want to marry a jailbird????? I suggest you really take time to think about this. Marriage is a lifelong commitment and trust me... you wont be very excited when you know you messed up! No offense but just asking you to be wise and cautious. :)))

First have a mental health exam, take a long look at your future and prepare for a big change once they are free. Priorities change, from incarceration to freedom.

I have no idea.... I have often wondered why someone would do that. Since I don't know anyone who has... Would you care to add in your details, why you want to marry an inmate?

Can't you wait untill they get out? I think that would be the best choice, but if your set on doing it then ask someone at the prison.

Besides the fact that you are making one of the biggest mistakes of your life....go to the warden and ask for permission. That's the only way.
