My kitty (3 year old neutered male) bites my hand regularly. Not agressively. It's more affectionate, if this makes sense. Like when I'm petting him, he'll bite gently on my fingers or my hand, occasionally my arm. Or if he wants attention and I don't drop everything I'm doing (like I know I should) he'll do the same thing. Again, not agressively. Sort of in the same manner that my other cat will lick me.

My kitty usually only bites hard if she gets a bit over excited during play, so I try to keep it pretty light.

Sometimes in the morning she'll do the light affectionate biting that your cat does.

I had an aggressive biter and I'm glad to hear yours is not this way. My now-cat (lol) is a licker/nibbler. Sounds like the same scenario. He likes to lick, lick, lick and he'll occassionally nibble my fingers and hand. I think the other poster was right about them being love bites.

Please watch him though and make sure he doesn't become an aggressive biter and you should definately make sure he's up to date on his shots. Cats can spread infection very easily so try not to let him break your skin! :)

Yes, I taught mine not to bite, but if he thought I was playing too roughly he would put his teeth on me and freeze and watch me to make sure I got the message.

I currently have a cat who will very carefully bite me if I whistle.

Don't worry its normal all cats do that they do it because they are just saying hey I want you to pet me and play with me. They just want to play with you that's all don't worry my cat does that to when the wind is up he starts to do that. Sometimes he or she might start to bite your legs that's just saying he wants to play with you or he might just be bothered on what your doing and if he sits on your foot and he has it in the middle of his or her body they will roll them selves over and start to bite you.. don't worry about the hand thing he or she is just telling you that he wants to play with you. I hope that answer your questions.
