you need to develop a system for separating the healthy fears from the schizoid paranoias. I suggest you study scientific method ,logic and fallacious thinking . when one begins to understand the evolution of superstition from primitive myth to the present meme infrastructures and the psychological reasons such as Freud explained then the more recondite ideas of modern genius are more readily
understood and become acceptably clear .

The only way to conquer your fears is to confront them. As for Bloody Mary, I actually tried this (years ago) and nothing happened.

As a Protestant, if I had been living in England during the reign of Bloody Mary, I'd fear persecution too. However, it was much worse in France at that time.
