Be at the station when the train arrives. Have your luggage ready. When the conductor announces that passengers may board, step onto the train by way of the steps provided. The conductor will show you to your seat or compartment. The conductor can also help you store your luggage properly and answer any questions you may have.

There is much more information on Amtrak's web site.

Have a good trip!

If you purchased the ticket using your credit card, you must sign the ticket at the top right hand side before boarding the train. You must have with you a means of identification which shows the same name that is on the ticket, and includes your photograph. Check the train number which is shown on the ticket: you may ride only on that train. The train conductor will take the ticket from you and then place a coloured card in a holder above your seat (this shows the station at which you will leave the train). Retain the ticket stub until you have collected your luggage.

Put your ticket on the floor and stand on it. I do not believe the ticket will be able to move you or be able to give you a ride but you never know. Otherwise do as the other person has written.

Take the ticket and go to the airport then wait for the train to arrive.
