I downloaded Nero for free, and I attempted to burn a dvd. Nero said that it burned the filed to the DVD, but when I attempt to play it in my DVD player, nothing happened.

What can I do to fix this?

Or if not, at least find a different burner for FREE

Did you specify that you want to burn a VIDEO DVD?

Just burning a file to DVD does NOT make a video DVD.

you must have a dvd rw drive to accomplish this. you should have downloaded a nero version with dvd support. if you have installed this version of nero, try to store it first to your hdd or what is called an image file. after which, choose nero option 'burn image to disc". this will really be a sure step that your dvd will be written to your disc.

When you burn your DVD, make sure you choose the option to 'Validate the disk' before it burns it.

Other than that, it might be a problem with the DVD burner.

Or, your DVD player doesn't support what you've burnt.
