Why is it that girls are called "whores" and guys aren't?

Ok so if a girl wants to have sex with a guy because he's hot enough [and doesnt want a relationship with him]... and she does, every girl AND guy calls her a slut, whore, prostitute, boyfriend thief, home wrecker, etc .. but if a guy has sex with a girl, uses her, plays with her, and then dumps her, he's just called a player? Player sounds like a "good" term in my opinion because some guys even CLAIM to be "players"? And on the other hand, "whore" is a harsher word...
Its not about men being sexist because call each other sluts, too.

I've heard of men-whores lol but guys call girls "that h-o-e is.." .. girls dont call guys "that man whore .. "

That question has been asked since the beginning of time. Guys want us...then get us...then label us. And a hero is made.
My own son, who I thought was different than those other guys....is exactly the same way! I overheard him and his buds talk about so~and~so and what a whore she is! I confronted him...and he admitted that he thinks shes a slut. I asked WHY? He said, "cause she wanted to have sex". I told him he ALSO was a participant!!! He looked at me like I have 3 heads.
I HAVE NO IDEA why guys are the studs...and the girls they F are whores...but it sure p*sses us off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(and I understand NOT ALL GUYS ARE LIKE THAT....but the majority are)

It's all to do with a womens historical position, subordinate to a man. But things are changing.

I think a lot of it stems from a man being able to walk away from a pregnant women, but a women forever being stuck with a child... more relevant a few hundred years ago, before pills, condoms and abortions. But in those days a women had to choose a man wisely and "not give it up" so easily. Where as, back then and too a much lesser extent now - a man can go around having sex with women and face no burden - except for the child support agency!

It's a horrible sterotype, and I agree with everything you've said.

Guys who sleep around are actually thought of to be awesome, but yet if a girl sleeps around, they tell the guy to stay away from that girl because shes a "s l u t".

It's all about the patriarchal belief that men are sexual and women shouldn't be. It is their aim to control women's sexual desires and actions in part, to protect their "ownership" of it.
(If women screw around as freely as they do/can, how can you control it?)

We have at least in theory, risen above that mentality in the US, that women are property and that their sexuality is something her man owns. Sadly, in more covert ways, it is still very much alive. As you state in your examples, and as seen in any rape case out there. Furthermore, the woman is still both very much shamed for her sexuality and called upon to flaunt it (when doesn't a starlette show her cleavage?) .

Women are far worse about it than men. Studies show women judge one another far harsher in rape cases than men do. I suppose it is that part of human nature that revels in safety couched in hypocrisy.

because the world is a man's world and it is customary for men to sleep with a lot of women and be praised for it but women are held to another standard because women are mothers and they carry children, so that is why it is what is is but don't let labels get to you do what you want as long as you are safe!
