Please don't automatically assume that you're mineral deficient!!! You could be experiencing symptoms of a neurological disease. Get a medical exam as soon as possible. But, depending on your age, doctors may not want to put a label on the issue just yet. Hang in there, and hope you do well.

Hard to answer without much info....How old are you? do you take medicine like blood pressure meds or diruetics? Usually when you have alot of cramping it can be caused by a lack of potassium and calcium in your body.
You might try drinking a glass of milk or eating a banana when this happens or you may want to get some calcium and potassium pills. If it happens after strenuous activity you could be sweating out those things in your body too so you could try some gatorade.

It's also possible there is some medical reason for your legs cramping and hurting. It could be Restless Leg Syndrome, or alot of other things. I've listed a website that gives you possibilities based on your symptoms that might help but only your doctor can be for sure. If this continues or gets worse please go see a doctor. Good Luck!

Do you sit too much? That can result in poor circulation. Also, if your feet & legs cramp while walking it might indicate a serious circulatory problem in which case you should see a dr.

Sometimes meds can cause the problem; I was on the pill & got charlie horses all the time. I had to get off the pill & everything was OK after that.

water and potassium. Water and a bananna. I'll bet you are not exercising either. Do them in that order. If you cramp, stretch in the opposite direction. It will stop immediately. Cramps are reflexes. If you sit there on the couch all night, you will wake up in agony being unable to straighten your leg.
Water. NOW and a banana. If your Hamstring cramps at night, you will wish you had paid attention to me. Athletes know these things.

Cramps like these can be caused by a lack of calcium in your diet. Your muscles release and re-absorb calcium each time they flex and relax. If you have a deficiency, it takes longer for your muscle to re-absorb enough calcium to fully relax, which causes the spasms. Try eating more dairy or taking a supplement.

You might want to go see a doctor over this, in the mean time eat some banana's. They have potassium in them and sometimes when we are low on potassium our legs will act up like that. But like I said, you need to tell your doctor about it.

I'm willing to bet you don't drink water.
Dehydration is the major cause of foot and leg cramps.
People are not smart enough about their bodies to realize nothing they drink is better than water!

Did you know that complications from DVT blood clots kill up to 200,000 people in the U.S. each year?
Deep Vein Thrombosis, or DVT, is a blood clot that can form in your legs and sometimes move to your lungs, where it could be fatal. In fact, complications from DVT blood clots contribute to more deaths each year than AIDS and breast cancer combined. And cancer and certain heart or respiratory diseases increase the risk.

But the good news is, in most cases, DVT blood clots can be prevented.

Yeah, potassium and you could also be dehydrated. Drink more water and take little stretch breaks during the day and before bedtime.
