First and foremost, adult movies are a taboo. Meaning they are prohibited and is generally viewed (and filmed) privately and to openly discuss is unthinkable. Although there may be some that they discuss it, but for (if I may say) discussion purposes.

While I would agree that these types of movies are a form of moral corruption for some religious groups. The propagation of which cannot be contained and stopped as many westerners are still making it and not to mention patronizing such and buying it. Banning it would entail massive protests especially to producers making those type of films, actors, etc. In fact, I would not be surprised if there would be protesters denouncing the banning of adult movies as this is "against the freedom of expression". So banning it would be, I think, next to impossible thing.

The best possible solution I can think of...regulation.

I do agree that they are moral corruption and such, but it shouldn't take them being banned for them not to be watched; people should be responsible enough not to watch them because they are morally corrupt. I don't agree with banning anything, though. We live in a free country. Besides we will all have to answer for our own actions when we stand before God; so will those who produce, star in, or watch those movies.

I agree that they can be a moral corruption and don't personally care for them or watch them but we live in a free country. People are free to make choices and that is how it should be. When you start banning one thing, it leads to another and another and another and pretty soon it wouldn't be a country of free choice anymore. Now I am not saying nothing should be banned either but as long as something is legal and does no harm to another human being then I believe in live and let live.

it really is the challenge with atheism. with out God, you do not have any foundation for positing inalienable rights like free speech, which eliminates any barrier to totalitarian authorities. at the same time as governments like the Soviet Union and China were in accordance to atheism, some one hundred million human beings insufficiently compliant became expendable. Edit: @ Neil S, i could not discover the quote in that context. Jihadist crazies aren't any more in basic terms conserving an option idea, they are on the factor of launch a nuclear warhead at free human beings. it really is really plenty diverse from liquidating Christians less than atheist regimes. Agree?! Most of Jews and atheists will never agree with a Muslim.

Moral?! This word is not included in the west's dictionary.

Reputation?! This is the last thing they may care about.

Must be?!!!! Don't say this word again till you have the authority to.

For the above, my brother, your question will probably not be understood for them.

What do you define as an adult movie? Many excellent films have sexually explicit scenes, such at Y Tu Mama Tambien. Would you ban them, also? Porn has been around for eons. Look at the erotic art of India, China, Japan and the middle east.

I'm afraid I do not.

I think that if they actors in the films are consenting adults, and those watching receive satisfaction, then it is nobody's business.

I have problems with movies that depict acts of violence against women, and of course it goes without saying that both the makes of and watchers of child porn should be punished. But adult entertainment, by and for adults.... No problem.

The "west" in general prides itself on its freedoms.

No. The only problem I have with adult movies is that all the actors are gorgeous and shaved bald. It gives young people unrealistic ideas of what is normal sex-wise. Bring back 70's and 80's porn with the full bushes and normal looking people.

No. Whats the harm if two consenting adults want to enjoy an adult movie together in the privacy of their own home?

no way josé.

like any art form, there are good and bad adult movies. good erotica can be like any good art- interesting, edifying, exciting.
banning them in the west would be contrary to core western values.
and we've got a few other things giving us a bad reputation to deal with first.
