You can go to your chemist and get black ointment, its a drawing ointment, & if you put it on the swollen area it will draw what's in it to the surface where it will then drain out.

It is unlikely to be an abscess as they hurt so much you feel like you want to die(ok maybe not that much but I did get one over christmas and the dentist was shut)

It sounds as though it may be a big pimple so try not touching it as it can spread it. If it doesn't come to a head in a few days then visit your doctor just to make sure it is nothing serious

It's more likely a super-pimple on the rise. Keep your hands off it and resist all urges to poke, prod or squeeze that thing. Apply hot compresses with a clean cloth, hot as you can stand, as often as you can. No potions are needed. With heat, it will often form the whitehead in a day or so, and will drain all on it's own when it is ready. When that happens, you can apply a drop of tea tree oil or a dab of acne gel- whichever you have or prefer. If it drains on it's own, it will heal faster afterwards. If you mess with it, you can break it beneath the skin and make matters worse. You can spread the infection to other skin as well- so use fresh washed hands to apply the compress, and keep your hands off it otherwise.

It sounds like a major zit, or possibly a cyst. I don't think it's an abscess, or there would be more pain and swelling, and possibly pus oozing from it. The only way to be absolutely certain, is to see your doctor. In the meantime, don't pick at it or you may have some scarring.
