I like all black rifles but just getting into target/match guns. I really like the offerings from http://star15.com they seem to be built very well with better finish the most of the older/larger company's out there. They also engineer every thing to better than mil-spec which is something only a few makers do. I have owned 2 16 inch models of theirs and both shot under 1 MOA. The bushmasters are over played and the other two are the same unit just assembled at different locations. The Doublestar rifle is build completely in Kentucky except for their wilson barrels. they use on the guns like the one I am debating now. Also they build their rifle completely custom at time of order allowing you to spec out anything you want with one call. They also own ACE LTD and GG&G which means they offer tons of factory installed goodies that are beyond great.

My top choice whould be DPMS, but of the 3 you named, I'd go with Bushmaster or armalite.
I've built a lot of AR type rifles on several manufacturers lowers and have the best results with DPMS, OLYMPIC,BUSHMASTER or ARMALITE, in that order. There are other good ones out there too. Here is where I get my parts and kits to build my own rifles and carbines: www.MAPARTSINC.COM these folks use the finest quality parts, their kits are complete, and the uppers are pre assembled and headspaced and test fired. All by military trained armorers. I used to do the complete upper assembly myself and enjoyed it, but, you then have to head space etc and I ran into some barrels from some manufacturers that would not headspace correctly and I had to go thru the hassle of taking them apart again, returning the barrel, waiting for the new one to arrive, reassemble etc and I hate waiting on parts. M&A has never failed me yet, their barrels are excellent and I have not had a single part out of spec from them. They also ship promptly and have fair prices.

All three of these companies build great rifles. The Bushmaster and the RRA both have2 stage triggers available that work well. I am a single stage trigger man myself but my customers that use two stage like the RRA better. As far asthe lowers go they are all about the same.

A lower from any of those is good. Just be aware that because Colt used two different pin sizes on their lowers, it is possible to get an upper that may not fit your lower. Some are made for the larger or smaller pins. Just find out what size pins link the upper and lower together and remember to buy corresponding parts.

I believe that all RRA's come with 2 stage triggers as a standard, you may want to look into that, especially since you may be switching to varmint hunting. I also believe that they are the least expensive of the three.

I'd buy a Lower from Carricozarmory and buy a CAR15 kit from Model 1 Sales.
