Hmm, interesting question. That is sort of like asking if a person likes records or cds better. I do love dvd format, but they tend to get scratched if you are not careful, then again, if a VCR breaks or you VHS goes crazy, you are in just as bad a shape. Some of my favorite movies ever are still a part of my VHS library for the simple fact that I honestly don't see the point of getting rid of them when they still work just fine. All in all though, I like dvd the best. Being able to cram so many extras onto the disc without having to fast forward through the movie to see them is a bonus. Not to mention all of the basics like chapter selection, multi-speed navigation, subtitles, blah blah blah... you know what I mean. Besides, the real answer to your question lies in the success of the dvd. If no one liked them, then VHS would still be standing tall as the media preference.

DVD's for sure. I do own quite a few VHS's, but I keep them for sentimental reasons. With DVD's, you can skip around. I have a bad habit of doing that) Plus, I enjoy the special features aspect of DVD's. I have never personally had a problem with DVD"s getting scratched.

When on a road trip i prefer Vhs's because when we stop for gas the car is turned off and with a dvd you lose your spot and it gets pretty annoying going to scene selection all the time!

get a dvd participant from a save and not out of a cereal container and don't shop discs in a stack or the place crud can get on them. attempt quickly forwarding or rewinding a tape and then use an identical characteristic on a CD/DVD. I never had to rewind a DVD or CD. Or fish one out of a gadget that ate it.
