Darwinism is not a religion.
Darwin's Evolution is just a scientific theory and it is not against Christianity, as it was not against it that the earth is round and not the center of the universe and that it took billions of years to form and not a few days... when days not even existed.
What a surprise when another continent inhabited by men was found !
And yet Christianity survived to all the scientific advances and all new discoveries. It will also survive the universal acceptance of Evolution.
Not all parts of the religious texts were meant to be taken literally, only the historic facts.

My recommendation is, for it would be too long to write it all here, to google up for the theory of CONCORDISM (the teory that brings to peace darwinism (evolution) and christianity). The other, by my opinion the theory that makes more sense, is MODERNISM, or modernistic theory. Thry googling up for concordism of bible and darwin, or modernistic theory of bible and darwin or something alike. Basicly, concordism claims to be able to show evolutionism in bible, while modernism says - well, bible is, as wholy as it is, still a book - so it must have something made up in it. The ancient people did not have modern science so they just came up with ideas of how everything became. There is a huge resemblance between Bible's testemony of creation and ols Mesopotamian testemony called Enuma Elish - you should check that out, too..

And for Christ's sake people, it is obvious that Darwinism is not a religion - he probably meant "figuratively speaking". On the other hand, if any of you know the exact Darwin's theory, to some degree it is religion - (girafa has a long neck because it streched it while trying to reach for leaves - or tiger has his marks beacause he was in a shade of a tree - PLEASE!!!)

i'm not sure how great this paper could finally end up, in view that Christianity and Darwinism are thoroughly diverse, one in line with clinical concepts, the different in line with literary, historic and ethical concepts. the errors that folk run into is assuming that they conflict to describe an identical situation, in the way Relativity and Quantum Mechanics attempt to describe the actual worldwide. human beings additionally anticipate that the two are faith-based. Darwinism, like numerous clinical theories, would not require you to have self assurance in something for it to function, while maximum religions do.

darwinism is a theory. there is evidence to SUGGEST that certain biological adaptations and evolution occurred, but no proof as none of us were here then. this is also true of the bible and christianity. both require some amount of blind faith. however, you can make these points:

- the bible mentions that the earth is round centuries before scientists and dwarwinists believed it to be so.

- the bible mentions that while one side of the earth is light, the other is dark (ex: australia vs the US). this again was not agreed upon by science for centuries.

- science continuously contradicts itself, creating theories built upon other theories. (ex: the atom is the smallest element. oh, wait, now all of a sudden there are subatomic particles. electrons travel in orbits. oh, wait now they travel in an electronic cloud which is just where they most likely are at any point in time.)

every scientific theory is built with a certain set of accepted assumptions that aren't ever proven. building a new theory on top of this does not make it any more proven or true. (ex: you can't prove numbers exist. we created numbers and counted, but all of our math proofs, theorems, and principles are based on the ASSUMPTION that numbers just naturally exist in nature and aren't just a figment of our creation).

Darwinism isn't a religion. It's the right idea, because it's verifiable and can be proven. All hokey religious nonsense cannot be proven or verified in any way, and ergo shouldn't even be taken into account when looking for an answer. Any science built on a false premise is doomed to failure.

A few points to make: Darwin understood that his theory didn't hold true in all circumstances. However, evolution does exist.

Science can follow the roots of some species, and with DNA, can prove relationships. We know God created the Universe and all its aspects, can we honestly say God didn't use evolution to fulfill all that we see today? The Bible states that God created, it doesn't say how He created.

Darwinism is not a religion.

To confuse your friend a bit more, ask him why Charles Darwin's degree was in Theology?

What a silly person, your friend. And you too, for believing it's a religion.

The term "Darwinism" has long been discarded except for political use. Evolutionary biology went through "Darwinism" to "Modern Synthesis" and now some call it "Neo-Darwinism" but it is still a scientific construct, not religious.

Darwinism, if anything, is a scientific hypothesis about the origin of animal species.

Please, learn about scientific hypotheses.

well you have a choice, either you believe in something that make sense and is backed up by every research there is, or you can believe in a bunch of non-sense that caused the deaths of millions of persons in the last 2000 years. Your choice
