I heard it compared to a good, home made cherry pie once. You have the bottom crust, the filling and the top crust. The bottom crust could be God, who created the foundation of everything. The filling could be the Holy Spirit - without actual form, and the top crust could be Jesus who covered us with his blood.

When you slice the pie it is very difficult to get a defined piece without it kind of overlapping or running together - remember this is supposed to be a homemade pie. There is still three components, but they are all together in one piece.

I hope this helps.

Really you just have to accept the concept on faith. When you try to do anything else you fail because you cannot see God's mind.

God bless you.

Trinitarianism is the teaching that God is triune, that He has revealed Himself in three co-equal and co-eternal Persons

trinity is a term that is used to attempt to describe the triune God, the fact that there are 3 coexistent, co-eternal persons that make up God. Understand that this is NOT in any way suggesting 3 Gods. The Trinity is 1 God made up of 3 persons.

There is one God: Deuteronomy 6:4; 1 Corinthians 8:4; Galatians 3:20; 1 Timothy 2:5.

The Trinity consists of three Persons: Genesis 1:1; 1:26; 3:22; 11:7; Isaiah 6:8; 48:16; 61:1; Matthew 3:16-17; Matt 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14. In the passages in the Old Testament, a knowledge of Hebrew is helpful. In Genesis 1:1, the plural noun "Elohim" is used. In Genesis 1:26; 3:22; 11:7 and Isaiah 6:8, the plural pronoun for "us" is used. That "Elohim" and "us" refer to more than two is without question.

The members of the Trinity are distinguished one from another in various passages: In the Old Testament, "LORD" is distinguished from "Lord" (Genesis 19:24; Hosea 1:4). The "LORD" has a "Son" (Psalm 2:7, 12; Proverbs 30:2-4). Spirit is distinguished from the "LORD" (Numbers 27:18) and from "God" (Psalm 51:10-12). God the Son is distinguished from God the Father (Psalm 45:6-7; Hebrews 1:8-9). In the New Testament, John 14:16-17 is where Jesus speaks to the Father about sending a Helper, the Holy Spirit. This shows that Jesus did not consider Himself to be the Father or the Holy Spirit.

The trinity isn't easy to comprehend, even for the main psychological, although, i think that once you pray, God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit ALL hear! each and every of the three (although they're one) has accomplished something magnificent to create and make us and this worldwide what it truly is now. God made it, Jesus saved it, and the Holy Spirit has moved many in coronary heart and techniques! i even have self assurance in view that they're one they hear as one while we talk!

We are created in God's image. God gave us a body, soul, and spirit. We are three parts all living together. The bible describes the attributes of the Godhead. Jesus said all authority in heaven and earth has been given to Him,but He says the Father is greater than He is. The bible says God is love. Jesus asked His Father to guide His authority with His love. The Holy Spirit is given as a comforter to lead us to Jesus. He does this gently by convicting our conscience of sin. He also prays for us and even through us.

No.

if you have a bible handy consider this:
read the scriptures and then reason on them.

matthew 26:39-
if If the Father and the Son were not distinct individuals, such a prayer would have been meaningless. Jesus would have been praying to himself, and his will would of necessity have been the Father’s will

john 8: 17,18-
So, Jesus definitely spoke of himself as being an individual separate and distinct from the Father

makes sense right?

You never talk to yourself?

Yeah, right, inside your head you are talking to yourself, if you are a guy, about sex every six seconds.

Now if you are a person then you have a parent so that would make you a child and a person. That is two in one, person and child. If you were married you would be a spouse. That would be three in one, person, child and spouse. If you have a child you would be four in one, person, child, spouse and parent.

You would be both the child and the parent, how weird is that?

If you can't be more than one at a time then you would have to start killing off people.

Isn't that what Muslim Terrorists who say God cannot be three in one do, even though they are at least two in one.

Do Muslims terrorists start by killing off their own parents so they do not come across as hypocrites?

Do they have to kill their wives and kids too? Or is that why they blow themselves up, because they can't live being more than one?

PS: Yes, fire is three things, it is the wood that burns, the light it generates, the heat it generates, the smoke it generates.

Three things in one, heat, light and smoke. We call that Fire.

Three things in one, the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost. We call that God.

God has created, is running, and will destroy the Universe. God is the Origin and Destination of the Universe. God was, is, will be everywhere, God was never Created and will never die / be destroyed. God is beyond Life and Death. All religions of world teach human way to get close to God. You give your Best, God will give thy Best. Ask God for help and forgive, God will help and forgive you. Pray; Worship and Thank God for everything. Remember wherever there is Happiness in Life, there will be Sorrow. To get Happiness, you must master Sorrow. For Success in Life; Believe in Self and God, Learn from Past, Concentrate in Present, Plan for Future. Have control on, be the master of, not the slave of your body, senses, and mind. Purpose of this Life is to Gain and Share utmost Knowledge and Experience to differentiate and choose Right, Good, God against Wrong, Bad, Devil. Set your Desire level perfect or OK to be brave, no low to be coward, no high to be cruel. You have rights of Survival, Self Defence, and Freedom.

we just finished talking about this concept of the Trinity in my Bible Doctrines class in college. first of all, though your question is a good one, there is never going to be an answer we understand. God's ways and thoughts are higher than our thoughts. Jesus could "pray to himself" and yes that would been legitimate, but He prays to God the Father. we can pray to all three in different occasions, but still be directing our prayers to all three. like i said, the concept is hard for us to understand. but that does not make it an illogical doctrine. it is just supra-logical, as in above our logic. ok? and just because there are things that we cannot understand does not give us a reason to not believe in them. humans are always amazed at the system of the brain and other scientific phenomenons. God hasn't failed us in not letting us perfectly understand every concept from the Bible. :)

No, Jesus didn't pray to Himself - precisely because the Father is a separate and distinct Person from Jesus. Yet they are both God.
