The mind is a wonderful thing. Scientist tell us that the brain does not know the difference between dreams and reality.
I once talked with a man suffering from narcoleptic episodes. He would suddenly and without warning fall asleep even while climbing a ladder. My point is that he said he would be on his bed and would watch cartoons for hours just to find out his TV was not on. He also carried on a conversation for 30 minutes when the person was not there at all. Thankfully our brains function normally and we can tell the difference. However there is one other element you need to know about.
Our brain functions on many different levels and you have probably heard of Beta, or Delta states of mind. Here is a list:
1. Delta waves (1-3 Hz) are characteristic for dreamless deep sleep and coma conditions.

2. Theta waves (4-7 Hz) are characteristic for the dream sleep.

3. Alpha waves(8-12 Hz) arise in the relaxed awake condition, e. g. in a meditation or briefly before falling asleep and/or immediately after awaking.

4. Beta waves_ (13-40 Hz) are dominant in the normal awake condition.

These waves are also in the Ionosphere and control creativity, and other means of communication and problem solving.
The point to all of this is that we do in fact communicate with others using some of the above wave lengths and can do so simultaneously. So the answer is YES!!!! See the links below one explains this phenomena and the other link is to a composer who creates all his music while using it.

I believe people can visit eachother in dreams.
I lived in the south and my sister lived way up north, yet I would dream of her and when I woke up, I would call and tell her what I saw. I even knew she was pregnant before she did. I called her, told her I saw her throwing up the night before. She said she thought she had a flu. I told her to go to the doctor because I saw the baby in the belly. She went to the doctor the next day and they took blood, (she was three weeks pregnant.) Incredible but true. Cool...

Not so much that she visited you, more likely you telepathically heard her thinking about you during the day, and it surfaced in your dreams before you saw the facebook entry....

Maybe in spirit they can.
Its like when u think of sumone, then they call you or u get a letter from them. I guess dreams are the same way when u see them in your dreams

I'd search it if I were you. I've never heard of it, but it would be really cool if you could!
