I have a few acne patches, but the rest of my face is dry and gets kind of flaky sometimes. I wash my face with a gentle soap every day that shouldn't dry my skin out, so I don't understand.
How do I treat the dryness and the acne at the same time?

1] buy a face wash [ not bar soap - they don't work well for dry skin ], toner, sunscreen, and moisturizer for combination skin. Use wash, toner on oily areas, and sunscreen in AM; and wash, toner on oily areas, and moisturizer in PM.
2] buy Aapri or St Ives apricot scrub - use twice a week, scrubbing gently with fingers. Will remove all dead skin, and uncover fresh unclogged skin below.
3] use acne cream or gel on any spots
4] use only non-comedogenic [ doesn't cause zits ] makeup [ labeled on package ].
5] drink 1/2 gallon of water a day
6] take a good multivitamin with minerals every day

Use a cleanser and a toner all over your face. Then ONLY moisturize the dry areas.

treat first the acne and if it gets better, then that's the time for you to resolve your dry skin problem.
