It was on the evening news Lou Dobbs or the situation room. As I understood it it has to do with a New York law being put into effect!Another part of it was about the illegals being able to register to vote once they have these licenses.

I didn't know that any states issued DLs to illegals. I think that's the first problem; that they're issued in the first place. There should be a check when the DL application comes in to see if they are illegal or not and, if they are, they should be arrested and deported as they are CRIMINALS.

Illegal immigrants constantly get into automobile accidents and are not held liable. This leaves the victim to pay for the damages out of their own pocket and, 9 times out of 10, the illegal is just let go. Once again, they are CRIMINALS by their very nature and should be arrested on the spot and handed over to ICE.

To answer your question, no, non-issuing states should not honor those licenses from issuing states. That will never be the case though because the state that does not accept them will be cutting their own throat due to the business that they would lose from visitors from the other states.

I think the full faith and credit clause comes into play here. States would therefore have to accept it. I can see arguments for it. A license means you might, just might, have insurance. No license means you definitely don't. Now, if you are rear-ended by an illegal would you prefer them to have insurance or not?

As for voting, I hope enough controls are put in place to ensure illegals cannot turn a driver's license into a voter registration. I know it works in NC. When I moved from NJ the lady at DMV noted that I was not yet a citizen and, therefore would not be able to register to vote.

No never, they should keep the same period of time as they do now, and then must have a new state license and tags. Could you cite your source that this is about to become an issue?

No, I don't think that any state should be obligated to honor any document of anyone here illegally.

The supreme court is going to have to weigh in on this soon....hopefully, they will start pushing the government to do what's right and start enforcing all our federal laws.

No, since the social contract that is called the Constitution should only apply to Citizens, and legal Aliens. And as any state that applies it to illegal aliens, is therefore in breach of the contract, they should not have full faith and credit, as they are not in compliance with the contractual terms set forth in that contract. Of course this is merely my opinion.

No, the only card illegals should get is one that explains in whatever gutter language they speak what will happen if they come back after being deported then following through.
