I don't understand why churches use humanitarian funds for overhead and fund raising expenses. Some churches contribute as low as 80% of all donates in helping others. How can a religion feel good about what they do when they get paid for it. that's not service. My church gives 100% of donations. All workers in the program help as volunteers. They are the only ones i know that do that. What are your thoughts?

No, i'm talking about if they have a charity organization. It's always seperate from the church fund. The charity fund goes to help the poor.

You always see them on tv. christian commercials saying to donate so so a month to help someone in this country. they don't tell you that it's just a non profit organization.

I believe you are talking about allocated funds, designated as charitable contributions. If I ever learned that my church was taking anything less than 100 per cent of funds donated and specified as charitable contributions, I would join another church. When I give to my church, I do so with an envelope. On the outside of the envelope I can specify where I want the funds to be spent or I can just check the Church Budget column and the money will go into the general budget to be spent however the church desires.

But I don't give my money to the Church. I give my money to God. When the check is written, my obligation is fulfilled. What is done with that money is up to the church. My obligation is to God, not the church. I have total faith in my church to use His money wisely. If they misuse the funds, then they will have to answer to the Lord for that.
