2012 is not the end of the world. The Mayan calendar for this present existence runs out in 2012 and according to the Mayans, a blood sacrifice has to be made to secure the next existence. That doesn't mean that the world is ending in 2012, just that if you happen to be hanging around Tikal and you're superstitious you might want to offer the fresh, still beating heart of one of your enemies or a smoke offering off blood-soaked fig bark with blood from your king's penis and your queen's tongue or ears.

No, just humans and governments at it again.

And the Syrian site was bombed for containing conventional arms. Its nuclear capabilities were tiny and used as an excuse.

Check your data a bit before running to the 2012 nonsense.
