Well dirt, clay, I guess it is all about the same thing. From dust you were made and to dust you shall return. Well, being made is different than evolving into something. If one is made, one has to be created by something. When looking at evolution we see that is usually only the smaller life forms the have only a few cells that can truly evolve. I mean in just the skin, or the eye or even the ear, there are millions of cells. That would mean that each group of cells would have to work together in order to produce 1 human. Now another question where is the evidence of evolution? I mean have we seen a type of man with an eye on his hand, or a leg where is arm is, or a foot where his hands are? That would prove evolution. That would show humans beginning to adapt to their environment. I mean the chances of a human just coming into existence as we are and have been by evolution is so high it is not even possible to count. I mean one would have better odds of hitting the powerball 4 times in a row. It would mean that every single cell in humans would have had to have been placed together at just the right time and under just the right conditions. Then where did the opposite sex come from? Look at the way the cells vary in the sex organs alone, and how they act in one but not in the other. Scientists have been trying and trying to come up with the way humans mutated or came to be as we are today and they have no clue. So that with the fact that we do not have any evidence of today's human evolving over time leads people to believe in creation. Some things science is not able to answer. =)

Your getting your predudices all wrong.

Scientists say all life originated from the primordial soup which is:

Minerals washed off rock and water.
Primordial soup is then struck by lightening, causing the formation of complex molecules that eventually form into simple cells. Thats the scientific explaination.

Christians quote such passages as "from earth we came and from earth we will return.

So science and religion agree.

The main trouble people have is understanding how humans could have evolved from an ancestor primate. As you point out, monkey's also evolved from that primate.

The truth of the matter is that we don't know if humans evolved, or whether we were artificially generated by mixing DNA from organism X with primate DNA to form a hybrid.

However, if molecular genetics is to be accepted, humans have lived for 200,000 years. Previous hominids go back as far as 1.2 million years. Therefore is you believe that mutations produced humans from hominids, you are accepting that the necessary change occured in approximately 1.18 million years.

All we can do to substanciate this is to gestimate the average rate of germline mutation per generation and compare hominid genome with human genome and see if the calculations allow the average mutatation rate to make the necessary genetic change.

I think Christians that hold the earth to be only 6000 years old because they belief Jewish OT to be gospel have a problem with the time needed to mutate primate to human. That position is arrived at by assuming everything in the bible is correct without acception.

Well, we didn't evolove from apes or monkeys. Humans, apes, and monkeys evolved from a common ancestor. People always tend to confuse that which makes them think evolution is a silly idea b/c "why do apes and monkeys still exist if we evolved from them." No one said we did. That is the fallacy of that argument.

1. The whole man from dirt thing is a play on words. The word for mankind in hebrew is "adam" and the word for dirt or earth is "adamah". You'll find a lot of plays on words in the old testament.

2. Humans didn't evolve from monkeys. Humans and modern apes evolved from a common ancestor ape.

Christians have been conditioned to believe the bible literally, even though it was meant to be read as ALLEGORY.

So the issues they're bringing up, about how there is chemical components to the dirt and other nonsensical things; have no meaning.
They will make any argument, no matter how ILLOGICAL, to prove that, yes, the Bible is correct.

They will shut their eyes and cover their ears until their Savior comes to save them. They will do this until the end of times, if necessary.

Because that is what God said He did---He formed man from the dust of the earth and blew life into his nostrils and to dust or soil we will return when we die. We are basically made up of 2.00 worth of chemicals and mostly water.
There is no real observable, testable scientific proof for evolution to be true and life cannot start on it's own from non-living materials. If you believe in evolution, then we all evolved from hydrogen gas in the Big Bang...or, eventually, we evolved from a primordial soup of chemicals. Not true at all....creation proves a Creator.

There's actually no proof that people are linked to apes at all. There hasn't been a fossil yet to prove there is a link. I think one which they did find turned out to be a hoax and was a personal joke between two scientists.

Plus evolution is just as much a theory as creationism, considering niether has been completely proven. So you need just as much faith to believe that God created humans as to believe that "somehow" we turned into people from monkeys.

The fundamental belief of all major three religions Judaism, Christianity and Islam is that soil has created life. Science has also concluded that early stages of life arose from soil. However, we have not evolved from monkey, but chimpanzees. Chimps are completely different from monkeys. chimps and humans have opposable thumbs. It takes time for science to prove itself right. Maybe generation to come will realize the importance of evolution.

If biology were to reveal that humans evolved from dolphins it probably wouldn't upset people as much as pointing out our closest relatives are non-human primates. But close species' relations often seem to produce a disgust reaction among a variety of species. It may be nature's way of preventing nonproductive attempts at interbreeding among closely related species.

Well... we DIDN'T evolve from monkeys for one thing. We evolved from ape-like creatures but they don't see the difference so they rely on dirt. Genius, isn't it?
