Adam and Eve is of course a fairytale, but believe it or not, Islam takes this fairytale and makes it even more absurd.

First of all, in Islam, Adam is essentially the same, being the first man and falling from God's goodwill, but now hes a full fledged Prophet!

Now the whole purpose of a prophet is to bring humanity a message from God, but of course, since Adam is the first human, next to insignificant Eve (Islamic version), THERE IS NO HUMANITY TO DELIVER A MESSAGE TO!!!

The Quran goes even further still with the story about Iblis. Not only was Adam a prophet to a non-existent people, but he was a semi-deity as Allah demanded the angels and Iblis to bow down to the all-mightey Adam.

What about Eve you ask? No...no prophethood for her...all she had to do with give birth to mankind...so she didnt merit and prophethood or bowing...

Lmao.

I like the part when you said he is a prophet but there is no humanity to deliver the message to. Ahhh, that's classic.

I'm not even a Muslim, I'm a Jew - and not a very observant one at all, or even a believer in god. But I'm going to write this in defense of religion in general, because I see the same thing happen with Judaism.

FIRST, ask yourself how Islam defines a prophet, because it sounds like you, the one calling biblical creation a fairy tale, is looking at this from a CHRISTIAN perspective and definition. SECOND, find out how Islam defines an angel. In Judaism, men can rise above angels because angels have no free will, while men choose goodness. In Christianity it would seem they do have free will. This is why Jews have no real "devil". I can't speak for Islam, because I haven't studied it, but people make judgments without understanding.

As far as the woman thing goes, I try to look at religions historically, and I know that ALL three Abrahamic faiths hold things against women and other groups because of the ancient societies they came from. But if you're going to bash Islam, or religion in general, do some effin research.

First off Islam is not the only faith who believe in Adam and Eve so why not make your question unbiased and ask it to all faiths who believe in them?
(Prejudiced maybe?)

He is a prophet as God says to him "Then the Lord had mercy on him; He relented towards him and rightly guided him. 'get you down, both, He said, 'and may your offspring be enemies ot each other. When my guidance is revealed to you, he that follows it shall neither err nor grieve; but he that rejects and deny warning shall live in woe and come before us blind on the day of Resurrection.

So here you see he was forgiven. God was merciful.
He is a prophet (one who is chosen by God to deliver a message to people) You see his message above? To warn his offspring not to be transgressors? THAT WAS THE HUMANITY HE WAS TO DELIVER THE MESSAGE TO!!! His children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren etc etc you get the picture and therein ALL of humanity. I think that is a message loud and clear. I think that is exactly what a prophet does?

He was not a "semi deity" either. The angles where asked to bow to Adam as a command from God not in order to worship Adam. And what of Eve? So she is not a prophet that does not mean that she is not loved and respected.

Again "truth seeking" not much "truth" or fact in anything you have to say. Nothing new there then. Good day to you.

Mr.Pedram. i know you as a knowledgable individual yet these days you're going some incorrect techniques. You blamed Abubakar (ra) and Umar (ra) as huge-unfold, then what approximately Khadeeja (ra) ? Muhammad (saww) replaced into her third husband, she embrassed islam on the age of forty then married the Prophet ( saww). Does any sunni muslim questioned her faith till now she entered in islamic fold ? Allah forgives each and every little thing while a individual embrasses islam. i do no longer opt to assert approximately Abulahab and Abutalib. think of one thousand cases till now answering.

Muhammad didn't know much about the prophets of God, which is why he got this wrong and isn't one himself.

Adam is not a prophet, probably for the very reason you gave.

In Christianity, there are two women prophets (prophetesses), Miriam and Deborah, but not Eve.

God Bless.

Prophethood is not an easy job. For women it is hard enough to carry a pregnancy for nine months, then suffer pains delivering the baby, then breast feeding and keep cleaning the bady. Before she is done with one, second comes along. How a woman can handle the job or Prophethood in which Prophet has to face the hardship caused by opponents and many enemies also. It is not easy to convince people to abondon their age old traditions of worshipping idols, sun, fire or other man made objects.
Prophethood is not the job of woman period.

Adam and Eve. Reminds me of the A&E channel on TV.

OK, a bit more seriously. Maybe Adam was the prophet for Eve--i.e., serving half the original population.

How many prophets are needed, one would think. would be based on how large the population, how easily they would be to convince, and what means of communication were available.

I think in terms of different prophets for different generations and different cultures. Who knows, maybe Einstein was a prophet, whom we failed to recognize as such.

Look a the societies that created these stories. Women are almost always portrayed as the villian. After all, isn't it Eve to succums to the temptations of the devil? Isn't it a woman who asks for the head of John the Baptist? Isn't it a woman who brings down the mighty Samson? Mary Magdalene portrayed (mostly by the church & not the doctrine) as a whore?

Even wasnt mentioned in the Qur'an, but Mary was, and she was known as the most pious woman.

In Islam Prophets are still human, they can make mistakes.
