I recently attempted to take my son off of all stimulants and try a non-stimulant. It was a rough month and a half at home and at school for him. I've had to switch to a stimulant again. It's a new one called Vyvanse. Any one know it? Please don't answer this if you have nothing nice to say about the method of treatment we use for our children or ourselves.

I also have a chat room and boards for any one interested in support. I tolerate no judgeing people for wethods of treatments there wether it's with medicine or diet or anything.

For information on it please e-mail me. I am looking for a co-mod to join me. Thanks

I am not familiar with the medication you mentioned but I must offer you my support in doing what is best for your child. Most people who criticize the use of melds try to say that parents resort to using meds because they are bad parents. They say this out of ignorance.Life with a child who has ADHD is very difficult. Those people who have not witnessed the daily struggle of a child who is trying their best each day but lacks the ability to concentrate on the task cannot imagine the frustration of both a child and the parent.I stand firm in my belief that melds will help some children to reach their fullest potential.Meds help a child to capture some control in their life. No one advocates over medicating a child and I think we can both on agree on that point. It takes courage to do the right thing and go against popular opinion. You and I know a doctor doesn't just prescribe neds because a parent asks for it.The decision comes after assessments from parents, teachers as well as your doctor.Other specialists may be involved to determine an I.E.P for your child so he can be taught according to his learning style. You love your son and are doing what you can for your son because of that.Good luck.

It will depend on how a long way up the household tree you'll be able to hint the ADHD. If you most effective recognise the the mum and dad this can be a 50% threat. If you'll be able to appear up the household tree and spot that the ADHD is an remoted case then the possibilities difference to a greater or shrink percent thus.
