Jesus is Yahweh God of the Old and New Testament. This is one of the many verses that show this. Good call...
In the coming again of Jesus the Jewish people will recognize their mistake in rejecting Him as the messiah and we will all be one again, Jewish and gentile people of God.

The correct translation of Zechariah 12:10 should be.
"they will look onto Me concerning whom they have pierced and they will mourn for him"
This is consistent with the two subjects. By reviewing the context we can also understand of whom this passage is speaking. Starting with the beginning of Zechariah chapter 12 the prophet speaks of a time when the nations of the world will be gathered against Jerusalem to destroy it (Zec 12:3). On that day, G-d Himself will defend Jerusalem and destroy all of its enemies (Zec 12:4-9). G-d will pour out a spirit of grace and supplication toward the Jews. Grace is requested from G-d and supplication are directed to G-d.
This new spirit will motivate the Jewish nation to look towards G-d concerning those Jews (collective Jewish Martyrs) (see Hosea 11:1 for the Jewish people described as him. See Ex.1 etc. verbs of oppression in singular. Cf. Deut 32, Hos 8:3 and Ex. 19:2) who have been killed in battle prior to G-d's divine intervention in fighting our adversaries.
All the inhabitants of Jerusalem will mourn. This has obviously not yet been fulfilled, now or when the Roman soldier looked at Jesus.
This understanding is validated by the scriptural description that this mourning in Jerusalem would be "like the mourning of Hadadrimmom in the Valley of Magiddo." This refers to the death of King Josiah who was killed in battle with Pharaoh Neco (2 Kings 23:29-30). After his death all of Judah and Jerusalem mourned for him (2 Chron 35:22-25). In the same way that the Jews mourned over King Josiah who died in battle so too will the Jewish people in the future mourn over their war dead.

'
This God saying that after the victory and rejoicing people will look to God in despair over those that have been killed during the period in exile. In fact, the Targum Yonatan interprets this piercing as ebing the exile- and the grieving here for the years and despair of the exile.

The Western Wold got stuck with such a narcisist God that it is no joke! Just think of it! Jesus was crying like crazy actually SWEATING BLOOD not wanting to be crucified! Very few Christians want to admit the sadomasochistic aspect of God the Father's pleasure to have his only Son Jesus delivered and crucified "before the foundation of the Earth"...
Hebrews 5:7-8 (NIV) During the days of Jesus' life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions with loud cries and tears to the one who could save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission. Although he was a son, he learned obedience from what he suffered
Actually God the Father made Judas and Pilate the responsible party to have Jesus crucified.
John 19:11 (NIV) Jesus answered, "You would have no power over me if it were not given to you FROM ABOVE. Therefore the one who handed me over to you is guilty of a greater SIN* (His own Father???)."
So you see Jesus was really scared to die. Good thing that Saint Paul came along later on and finished whatever pain Jesus still had to suffer in his flesh...
Colossians 1:24 (NIV) Now I rejoice in what was suffered for you, and I fill up in my flesh what is still lacking in regard to Christ's afflictions, for the sake of his body, which is the church.
And that is why God rewarded Saint Paul with the "STIGMATTA". He was the first Christian to get it.
Galatians 6:17 (NIV) Finally, let no one cause me trouble, for I bear on my body the marks of Jesus.

Some zealot from a long time ago.
Presumeably, Zechariah, though we really don't know the author or authors of that text. In those times, it was common to writer under another's name. The Old Testament was passed down by oral tradition, so we don't even know the original story or how much of it survived intact.

Jesus the Son was literally pierced, while Jehovah the Father was figuratively pained by seeing His Son's suffering.
Trinitarians who point to Zechariah 12:10 do their cause a disservice when they pretend that nontrinitarians (or unitarians with a lower-case "u") misunderstand the original Hebrew there. Bible students and scholars have long acknowledged that "They shall look upon me whom they have pierced" is the LITERAL translation of this verse.
But this Scripture is *NOT* to be taken literally.
Clearly, any parent would feel the pain of his child. When Christ Jesus the Son was cut, of course his Father Jehovah felt that pain. Trinitarians and non-Trinitarian Christians alike should well-understand this point, and note that "the Father" remained in heaven when "the Son" was impaled on earth.
...(Luke 23:46) Jesus called with a loud voice and said: "Father, into your hands I entrust my spirit." When he had said this, he expired.
Interestingly, bible prophesy shows that *EVEN MARY* the human mother of Jesus would feel this stabbing pain when the human Jesus was impaled:
...(Luke 2:34-35) [The prophet] Simeon blessed them [Joseph, Mary, and the infant Jesus], but said to Mary its mother: "Look! This one is laid for the fall and the rising again of many in Israel and for a sign to be talked against (yes, a long sword will be run through the soul of you yourself)
Rotherham, American Standard Version, Moffatt, An American Translation and Revised Standard Version all use "him" instead of "me" either in the main body of the text itself or in a footnote as an honest alternative. Whether the pierced one is Jehovah or Jesus, there is a more logical translation.
...(Zechariah 12:10) And I [Jehovah] will pour out upon the house of David and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem the spirit of favor and entreaties, and they will certainly look to the One whom they pierced
Sadly trinitarians repeatedly misapply scripture while they insist upon worldly philosophy, Greek paganisms, and quotes from other Babylon-loving Trinitarians to support their unscriptural ideas. By contrast, Jehovah's Witnesses believe that the Scriptures alone quite plainly demonstrate that Jesus and the Almighty are separate distinct persons, and the Almighty created Jesus as His firstborn son.
(Colossians 1:15) the firstborn of all creation
(Mark 10:18) Jesus said to him: 'Why do you call me good? Nobody is good, except one, God.
(Revelation 3:14) the Amen says, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation by God
(Philippians 2:5-6) Christ Jesus, who, although he was existing in God's form, gave no consideration to a seizure, namely, that he should be equal to God
(John 8:42) Neither have I come of my own initiative at all, but that One sent me forth
(John 12:49) I have not spoken out of my own impulse, but the Father himself who sent me has given me a commandment as to what to tell and what to speak
(John 14:28) I am going my way to the Father, because the Father is greater than I am
(1 Corinthians 15:28) But when all things will have been subjected to him, then the Son himself will also subject himself to the One who subjected all things to him
(Matthew 20:23) this sitting down at my right hand and at my left is not mine to give, but it belongs to those for whom it has been prepared by my Father
(1 Corinthians 11:3) I want you to know that the head of every man is the Christ; ...in turn the head of the Christ is God
(John 20:17) I am ascending to my Father and your Father and to my God and your God.
(Deuteronomy 6:4) Jehovah our God is one Jehovah
(1 Corinthians 8:4-6) There is no God but one. For even though there are those who are called "gods," whether in heaven or on earth, just as there are many "gods" and many "lords," there is actually to us one God the Father, out of whom all things are, and we for him
Thanks again for an opportunity to share what the bible actually says about the distinct persons of Jesus Christ the Son and Jehovah God the Father!

If you say Jesus, as a Christian, you have a serious problem, because when you put the verse in its context, you will see that that one who was pierced was not of God! He was a false prophet - it says so very clearly. Just read it in context.

Jehovah!
Great scripture to show the JW's; Of course in verse 12:10 in their new world translation they changed (look upon me whom they have pierced) to look to the One whom they pierced but, they forgot to change Zechariah 11:12-13;
Then I said to them; "If it is good in YOUR eyes, give [me] my wages; but if not, refrain." And they proceeded to pay my wages, thirty pieces of silver. 13-At that, Jehovah said to me; "Throw it to the treasury-the majestic value with which I have seen valued from their standpoint. Accordingly I took the thirty pieces of silver and threw it into the treasury at the the house of Jehovah. (nwt) I have showed these verses to JW's and they stand there looking totally bewildered because they see it in their own so called bible and they know that it was Jesus that Judas betrayed for thirty pieces of silver yet in the verse Jehovah says which I have been valued.
