In 1980 I was watching the Washington for Jesus rally on cable TV. After the first night's events I went to my bedroom and knelt down by my bed.The clock read 10:00 central time. I asked God what He wanted to show me. He answered Isaiah 58. I read that chapter and went to bed. The next night I watched the events again. After they were finished they interviewed people on the street. One guy said after the events the night before he went to his hotel room and got on his knees by his bed. His clock said 11:00 eastern time. He asked God what He wanted to show him. And God answered Isaiah 58. I was amazed that two guys 1500 miles apart had knelt down to pray at the same time, asked God the same question, and got the same answer. Obviously this chapter is very important for our country. I encourage everyone to read this chapter .

By the time I was nearly 11 my father had a massive stroke and was permanently hospitalized. My mother, already a drinker, became and increasingly hardcore alcoholic. She died when I was 13.
We went to church when I was younger, and I went to Sunday School. Every Easter we talked about how Jesus died and rose again, but I never knew why and it was not part of the teaching, for some reason.
When I was 14, I started going to church with my grandmother after a year of her inviting me. She just figured that her nice pastor was good with young people and might be a good influence on me. I met the pastor and he invited me to come out to a young men's group.
In that group, I heard why Jesus died and how He wanted to be a part of my life ("Behold, I stand at the door and knock"). One night, after some more inquiry, as I was alone in my darkened room, I reached up and opened invisible doors and asked Jesus to come in.
Internal changes began immediately. Within days, my grandmother remarked how she heard me whistling and she never heard me do that before - she said I seemed quite different. I was.
That was more than 30 years ago and I haven't turned back.
There are more details, but I did not want to leave a book here.

I don't really think that I have a testimony to share however I have made a startling discovery in the past few months.
I would have to say that I have been more stressed and had more trials and tribulations in the past 6 months than I have had in my entire life and with all of that I am still the happiest person I know!

I admire you for letting people tell their testimonies! I recenly experianced Christ in a new light....He allowed me to go to the Philppines on a vsm trip, and I had a great time! People there are so hungry for the gospel. God blessed me by allowing me to be able to witness to people in the market place, and 2 ladies accepted Christ as their Savior...I have had Jesus in my heart since I was 12, (I am 17 now) and I have never felt so close to Christ. He has totally been every thing I have ever needed! God Bless you for trying to strengten other Christians, and help spread the word to non-believers!

Two times GOD has called me by name through someone. First let me say that I am gay and one time I was cruising the streets for guys and I picked up a hitchhiker on the freeway and this man knew my name and why I picked him up(sex), he went on to tell me I was under a generational curse and that Christ would deliver me from it. I had the feeling he was an angel, anyway I gave him a ride to a city an hour away from my town. I know the atheists won't believe but it is the Gods honest truth. Praise the LORD.

Story 1:
My cousin married a baptist preacher and her parents, staunch baptists, were so proud. He was the hit of all family gatherings, glowering at the sinners among us and leading pre-meal prayers.
Then he was caught with his organ in the church organist. My cousin divorced him and he slunk away in the night.
Story 2:
My uncle returned form WW 2 and proposed to his catholic girlfriend. My baptist grandmother told my uncle that she wished he had come back from the ar in a pine box rather than he marry a catholic. He converted and married anyway.
When my grandmother was unable to care for herself later in life, my uncle and his wife took her in, fed her, cared for her and gave her a home for almost 20 years.
She never apologized.
Story 3:
My catholic Irish-Scottish great grandmother was offended when I told her Jesus was jewish. "Do you mean to tell my our lord was a jew? Impossible."
Story 4:
My sister was engaged to marry a non-believer (according to the standards of our baptist minister). He refused to marry the couple and they found another preacher.
The baptist minister's son shortly thereafter impregnated the daughter of one of the other members of the congregation. Unhesitatingly, he performed their marriage service as they were believers, never mind the fornication.

Yes, I was at the service for my father's funeral. The pastor was going on about God and Jesus, and suddenly I realized that I was no longer unsure---I was actually pretty darn certain that God and Jesus don't exist, and that we are alone in this Universe and must make the best of it with our fellow man, and the animals and places of this earth. It was a true epiphany.
And that feeling has persisted to this day.

Santa Claus changed my life.
Spoken somewhat in jest, but it's true. What is the difference between Santa and God, except in the quality of the ruse?
