hello me and my friend are useing a DCR-HC28 MiniDV Handycam® Camcorder for a video for a class and we cant find the usb cable connector and he need to get it to our computer to what i can recall is that it came with the usb cables does anyone know where it might be?

The Sony DCR-HC28 does not have a USB port but the next model up, the DCR-HC38, does. The 28 does though have an i.Link port to interface with a any computer that includes one. Sony's trade name for an IEEE1394 / DV / Firewire port is called i.Link but they are all the same thing.

according to Sony, this camera does not have a USB port. it does have ilink/1394 connection. before looking for the ilink cable, you might want to check and see if your computer has a 1394/firewire port. If not, then you have more than just a cable issue. if yes, you can get a generic cable at most computer stores, the 4 pin to 6 pin version is the most common.
