Both are impossible for us to overcome. Neither are even remotely hard for God. It isn't our job to overcome either one. Jesus already did. We just need to seek him and spend time in his presence. He has set us free.

That's an interesting question. Most people don't know the difference between the two. The devil is a defeated foe, and the flesh is dead, though most think we are still trying to kill the flesh, but according to Romans 6 it is already dead. I think that the problem is in trying to get it to stay dead.

The devil does not deal with us directly. He is not omnipresent like God is. He has subordinate spirits that do his work for him. these will attack us with temptations from the outside or if given opportunity they will indwell the flesh. People call this possession, but possession is a misnomer. They do not posses. They only influence.

If one of these lesser devils indwells the flesh, then temptation in the area of that devil's assignment is much harder to resist, and the devil may need to be expelled. Sometimes they will get bored and leave on their own if the victim is able to continue resist temptation.

Satan uses whatever temptation is available to capture us and take us away from godly influences. The natural attractions of the flesh is but one of his tools to tempt us. If we conquer the flesh issue, we have only conquered one of Satan's temptations. He will still use other tools against us, like pride, greed, power, fame, vanity, etc.
Thus, flesh is but a subset of Satan. You have to conquer all of his manifestations by staying close to Christ, the source of all good influences. Cling to that which is right and shun that which is evil and you can conquer Satan.
So overcoming Satan is harder because he is the big picture whereas the flesh is but one of the smaller pictures.

This is a hard one for me because of my upbringing, but going from experince I would have to say fleash, because even when you know it is wrong....if feels sooo good, but when it comes to satan you can ask for help and/or tell him to stand behind you. Did you know though that humans are the only species of animals that have sex for enjoyment? A little FYI I learned in biology during my freashman year of highschool. If you are having problems with the fleash though you may have some other underlying issues or it could be a hormonial phase your body is passing thru. Remember, God made us imperfect so don't expect to be perfect yourself, that is where we fall into Satan's trap.

Satan is tough, but our flesh is harder. That is why God gives us the Holy Ghost. This empowers us to become overcomers!

Nothing is hard to overcome and nothing is easy to surmount.
By the way Satan is an imaginary being it does not exist

I would say Satan. Especially, if the devil looked like Liz Hurley in Bedazzled.

What a awesome question! I would say the flesh because the devil uses our flesh to tempt us.

Satan in the flesh is pretty hard to beat. Did you ever meet him?
