a few things,,
1, you may not be giving it enough time to load. Sometimes those files are huge, and it takes a very long time to load, and it appears that the computer is locked up. Try letting it load for a while without doing anything else.
2. Are you trying to view them online? If you are, instead of downloading it to your computer, how fast is your connection? If your connection is slow (dialup), that may be the reason, coupled with the first answer. Try downloading it, and then opening it from your computer
3. How much RAM is on your computer? A small or moderate amount of RAM will cause PDF files to open even more slowly.
I suggest downloading it to your computer, then opening it from there, and walking away for a while. Hopefully it will be open when you come back.

I would go and remove all versions of Adobe Reader, then re-download it fresh from adobe.com. You might just need an updated version, but clean the old ones off first. Stacy

your Adobe Reader may have a corrupted file or files. Uninstall the Adobe Reader and re-download it and re-install it. This should solve your problem.
