absolutely, especially in tougher parts like brooklyn, bronx, etc. def more street smarts, but maybe not physically tougher/stronger than other kids..just more street savvy...its a pretty harsh enviroment down there in some places and when you live it everyday it toughens you up

As far as street smarts? Yes I would say that NYC kids are tougher if you're talking about street smarts.

It really depends. I know people in NYC who are tough as a butterfly. Then there are those who are stronger than steel. NYC is diverse, and so is its toughness! Many kids from NYC live really priveliged lives, while others live crappy lives and have to get street smarts, and tough. All depends, all depends. But NYC is my favorite city in the world. And although I'd hate living there, I love living 10 minutes away. =] =] =] =] ^Sorry, off-topic there

Define tougher. Yes, they often have more street smarts than most kids - as would most kids in any big city.

No, just different. They're better in the city. But I've seen some of my friends kids at a farm and they were lost.

the problem is they think they are. not only the city but the state also thinks that way. i lived there i didnt like it so i moved to MN
