No.
Kingdom Halls were so named because they are the center where Jehovah's Witnesses preach the good news of God's Kingdom. (Matthew 24:14; Mark 13:10.)

No, the building that Jehovah's Witnesses meet in is called a Kingdom Hall. When they meet in the Kingdom Halls, these are called meetings.

The term Kingdom Hall is used because of the message Jesus delivered and prayed for. He went from house to house spreading the word of God's kingdom and he also prayed for it "Let your kingdom come". Nothing wrong with the word "Church". The Witnesses just don't want to be confused with the rest of Christendom who do go to "church". The church is a group of people not a building.

No we dont say we go to church but to the Kingdom hall because thats what it is. Why dont you come and see for yourself what its like, we dont have all the trappings that churches have, just a lot of friendly faces who know each other well.

Come! Be welcomed at our Kingdom Hall, anywhere!
We , as was stated, don't use the word church for the stated reason, however we don't take offense to anyone else using it!

The JWs are correct to point out that the biblical useage of the word 'church' refers to people and not buildings. It's equally correct to point out that Christians have known this fact for centuries. They just don't make a great song and dance about it.
What IS important is that the JWs believe that only 144,000 people are entitled to be called 'the church' of Christ - his 'body' - according to the strict biblical definition, yet they don't like to proclaim this very openly. They try to give the impression that all their congregations (most having not a single member of the church/body of Christ) are 'church' in the generally accepted sense of the word. This is not true. Only those anointed with God's Holy Spirit comprise the church/body of Christ. This is the real reason at back of them calling their buildings Kingdom Halls, and their gatherings 'congregations' rather than church.
Further, they loath and detest any connection with what they disparagingly call 'Christendom' so they meet in Kingdom Halls (not churches), they never call their congregations church, and they sing Kingdom songs (not hymns). Their titles are designed to distance themselves as far as possible from all others.

Jehovah's Witnesses prefer the terms "congregation" and "Kingdom Hall" to "church [group]" and "church [building]", but rarely quibble when others apply the latter terms to them.
The bible never uses the term "church" to refer to anything but a body of PERSONS, and so it isn't really accurate to call any building "a church".
The term "congregation" more plainly refers to a gathering of people. The term "Kingdom Hall" emphasizes the purpose of the building, and is used by tradition rather than for religious reasons.

Church is a mistranslation of the greek word used in the bible.
The word literally means 'congregation' which is a group of people and have nothing to do with a building.
This is why we call ourselves, the Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
