This is strictly opinion on my part....but I tend to try to look at the Bible logically and in the context of when it was written and who it was written by. It was written by men living in a time when many countries were falling a part because of a lack of morality and a lack of people. Times were hard and for various reasons the mortality rate was extremely high. I could see where in their minds, a homosexual act would be a waste of semen when it could be used to create a child and help stop the under-population problem.
Also, because of wars, there was a shortage of men (hence polygamy) and two men having a relationship would probably be seen as a waste too. I tend to think that is why there is very often something said in the Bible (depending on the translation and version) about male homosexuality and not female.
Also, homosexuality was often seen as a characteristic of Greek and Greek-like cultures (and later Roman). The early Jews tried very hard to separate themselves from other religions and cultures, particularly polytheistic ones. They didnt want to lose their culture to the greatly powerful Greek one.
I kind of think that there are many laws in the Bible that had their place and reasoning back then, but really dont apply today, but many still conform to them out of tradition or ignorance or faith or a combination.

It's not actually a Christian belief so much as a mindless carryover from the Mosaic requirement to have as many kids as possible (to strengthen the Hebrew tribe so that it could stand up to its many enemies) by simply forbidding any kind of sex that didn't lead to having babies. Jews traditionally are a people of written law and Christians traditionally are literalists, so you have modern Christians who believe history should be regarded as holy statute law. At least as long as what is forbidden doesn't appeal to them anyway. What's the expression? It depends on whose ox is being gored?

The only sex acts the Bible condones are between a man and a woman who are married. There are many sex acts in the Bible that people participate in but they are not an example to follow. Beastiality and fornication are mentioned as well as homosexuality, but they are not on the to do list. If you are looking for someone to tell you that you are okay in practicing your sexual preferences, don't look in the Bible.

as far as SOME heterosexual relationships being sinful, it is just referring to the ones that exist out of a marriage.
i suppose if you had gay sex with your spouse, it wouldnt be as bad, but thats a whole different tangent...
i believe anything that is not within the bonds of marriage and hetero is sin, but i dont place it on the same level as rape and pedophilia and all that.

I have searched and searched and have not been able to find a single scripture in which any same sex acts are not considered to be sin. I have found lots of scriptures that state that they are. Try actually reading the Bible sometime before commenting on it.

Get this straight. God ordained marriage - man and woman in lifelong relationship.
God considers homosexuality an ABOMINATION. Read it in your Bible, unless your Bible is erasable.
It makes no difference on your opinion. What God says is final.
If the Bible condemned ALL sexual relationships, you would not be here to argue an inane point.

The Bible condemns all pornea (bad sex). The only good sex is normal heterosexual sex. The Bible is not homophobic, it is homosexuals who are Christophobic.

Obviously, if something disgusts me, it's wrong. Like sex between old people, fat people, people of different races, and my parents. It should all be banned.
