It sounds like fatigue and possibly bad nutrition are playing a part if they come and go like that.
Or how about this: When you're feeling bad you are more critical about the way you look? Ever notice how it's always a great hair day when you feel fantastic?

I think those dark circles are caused from lack of sleep or vitamin deficiency. Which could be the reason for the bad mood and you are linking the circles with the mood when the mood is really caused by lack of sleep or vitamins. My suggestion would be to make sure you get enough sleep at night and maybe add a multivitamin to your daily routine.

I have big trouble with deep dark circles under my eyes - I always thought it was from being tired. My doctor said it is actually from allergies (hay fever/sinus). Once i began taking an allergy nasal spray to control my allergy symptoms, the circles went away (some bad allergy days they do show back up though).

Due to stress. Dark circles can treated with regular and gentle care.Cover your eyes with cotton soaked in luke warm milk for 15 minutes everyday to remove the dark circles around your eyes or dip cotton pads into freshly extracted mint juice, flatten them and place them on closed eyelids for 10 to 15 minutes. Check out http://useinfo-darkcircles.blogspot.com/ for more info.

Stress will bring it on. It takes 200,000 frowns to make one wrinkle a proven medical fact. Stay out of direct sunlight during the Summer or use a lotion that offers a sun screen.
Dermalogica has a full of cremes for facial lines. Use this on your bad days.

No, but do you think its tiredness, could you be aneamic? if you get the dark circles, through tiredness then that would put you in a bad mood. get to the doctor if youre not sure. Try changing your diet, eat plenty of veg and red meat and fish. see if it still happens.

could be a few things, most commonly from allergies,I sometimes get them from allergies, other things causing them could be,dehydration[drink more water],stress, not enough sleep, fatigue, thyroid problems, but your not alone, there are millions of people worldwide with dark circles, ohh another reason could be hereditary,if anyone from your family has them, best thing to do is to get enough sleep, sensible diet, and try and stay clear from stress, and drink lots of water, cause fluid retention lies under the eyes, and you dont drink enough water, your body will store water and a lot gets stored under the eyes, also if you eat a lot of salt just before bedtime, you can wake up with puffy eyes, hope this helps

Did they test you for being anemic - that could be a reason. If you aren't eating right you could be lacking other vitamins you need. Do you go outside in the air enough?
