“But the nations became wrathful, and your own wrath came, and the appointed time for the dead to be judged, and to give their reward to your slaves the prophets and to the holy ones and to those fearing your name, the small and the great, and to bring to ruin those ruining the earth.” (Revelation 11:18) From 1914 onward the nations of the world have fiercely expressed their wrath against one another, against God’s Kingdom, and especially against Jehovah’s two witnesses.—Revelation 11:3.
9 Throughout history the nations have been ruining the earth by their incessant warfare and bad management. Since 1914, however, this ruination has escalated to an alarming degree. Greed and corruption have resulted in expanding deserts and tremendous loss of productive land. Acid rain and radioactive clouds have damaged large areas. Food sources have been polluted. The air we breathe and the water we drink are contaminated. Industrial wastes threaten life on land and in the sea. At one time, the superpowers threatened complete ruination by way of nuclear annihilation of all humankind. Happily, Jehovah will “bring to ruin those ruining the earth”; he will execute judgment on those proud, godless humans who are responsible for earth’s sorry state. (Deuteronomy 32:5, 6; Psalm 14:1-3) Therefore, Jehovah arranges for the third woe, to bring these wrongdoers to account.—Revelation 11:14.
Woe to the Ruinous Ones!
10 Here, then, is the third woe. It comes quickly! It is Jehovah’s means of bringing ruination to those who desecrate his “footstool,” this lovely earth on which we live. (Isaiah 66:1) It is set in motion by the Messianic Kingdom—the sacred secret of God. God’s enemies, and Christendom’s leaders in particular, have been tormented by the first two woes—resulting principally from the locust plague and the armies of cavalry; but the third woe, which Jehovah’s Kingdom itself administers, brings more than torment. (Revelation 9:3-19) It provides the death stroke in ousting a ruinous human society and its rulers. This will come as the climax of Jehovah’s judging at Armageddon. It is just as Daniel prophesied: “And in the days of those kings [rulers who are ruining the earth] the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be brought to ruin. And the kingdom itself will not be passed on to any other people. It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it itself will stand to times indefinite.” Like an imposing mountain, God’s Kingdom will rule over an earth made glorious, vindicating Jehovah’s sovereignty and bringing eternal joy to mankind.—Daniel 2:35, 44; Isaiah 11:9; 60:13.
11 The third woe is accompanied by an ongoing series of happy events that will proceed progressively through the Lord’s day. It is the time ‘for the dead to be judged, and for God to give their reward to his slaves the prophets and to the holy ones and to those fearing his name.’ That means a resurrection from the dead! For the anointed holy ones who had already fallen asleep in death, this takes place early in the Lord’s day. (1 Thessalonians 4:15-17) In due course the remaining holy ones join these by an instantaneous resurrection. Others too are to be rewarded, including God’s slaves the prophets of ancient times and all others of mankind who come to fear Jehovah’s name, whether they are of the great crowd who survive the great tribulation or of “the dead, the great and the small,” who are raised to life during Christ’s Millennial Reign. Since God’s Messianic King has the keys of death and of Hades, his Kingdom rule opens the way for him to dispense everlasting life to all who reach out for that precious provision. (Revelation 1:18; 7:9, 14; 20:12, 13; Romans 6:22; John 5:28, 29) Whether it is immortal life in the heavens or eternal life on earth, this gift of life is an undeserved kindness from Jehovah, for which each recipient may be forever thankful!—Hebrews 2:9.Scientists Issue Warning
“HUMAN beings and the natural world are on a collision course. . . . No more than a few decades remain before the chance to avert the threats [to the environment] will be lost.”
This warning, issued by the UCS (Union of Concerned Scientists), was published in Annals, a Canadian medical journal. If man’s life-threatening practices continue, the report adds, these “may so alter the world that it will be unable to sustain life in the manner that we know.”
Cited among urgent problems that must be addressed are ozone depletion; water pollution; deforestation; loss of soil productivity; and the extinction of species, which by the year 2100 may include a third of all species now living. “Our tampering with the interdependent web of life,” says the UCS, “could trigger widespread effects, including collapses of biological systems whose dynamics we imperfectly understand.”
The concerns of the UCS were endorsed by more than 1,600 scientists worldwide, including 104 Nobel laureates. According to the UCS, “these senior members of the world’s scientific community warn all humanity that a change in our stewardship of the earth is needed if vast human misery is to be avoided.”
The Bible agrees that man is truly “ruining the earth.” (Revelation 11:18) It even acknowledges that a change in world stewardship is needed. (Jeremiah 10:23; Daniel 2:44) In fact, the Bible promises that such a change will occur, not through man’s efforts, but by God’s Kingdom, the heavenly government for which Jesus taught his followers to pray.—Psalm 145:16; Isaiah 11:1-9; Matthew 6:9, 10.

Every time there is a significant change of anything from the weather to wars, people think the end is near and god will be coming. Every millennium god is suppose to come. We make our own problems and global warming is something we have to work on.
We can easily make the end come by believing in scripture and make it happen ourselves. Some nut probably will try for War war III but I doubt God will come and save us.
If there is a god, god is probably off making new life somewhere far away on another planet and expects us to take care of ourselves. Most likely it is all just nature...

Jehovah God will bring to ruin those ruining the earth. This literal earth will last forever the Bible says.
Ec 1:4 A generation is going, and a generation is coming; but the earth is standing even to time indefinite.
Man is hurting our earthly home. Soon Jehovah will rid the earth of all the wicked and restore this literal earth back to a Paradise as it was in the beginning in the Garden of Eden.

I agree with you partly. You and I and others having a mostly clean conscience see the world differently. We say the world can't get worse as our standards are high; but it does get worse. That is why so many have predicted or seem to have predicted the end of this system of things wrongly.
The point is that God will not allow the earth to be completely destroyed by man, maybe closer to it. Other things must also happen as in Rev. 18.

I agree. A cross-reference for the scripture you mentioned is Psalm 2. I believe Christ's return could happen any moment! Global warming is only one of many events pointing to His eminent return, and God will indeed step in to prevent man from completely destroying His creation. God bless!!

things are going crazy with global warming. but it will take a VERY LONG TIME before the earth can become inhabitable. the closest time that we will see really obvious changes from global warming will be like in the next 50 yrs. when u read the bible you have to think about time. back then a few years wasn't that long to them. so u can see real changes over a 100 year period.

I'm not real familiar, obviously, with that scripture. But I just saw this guy who wrote this book and he said that global warming is an issue, but there are actually more important things that we should be worrying about first. And he wrote a book that it explains it all. And of course I can't remember the guys name, the name of the book. Nice answer eh?
But yes, though I am not familiar with that scripture, I do believe God will step in before we destroy the planet He made. I'll try and find out the name of that book. It sounded like he really knew what he was talking about and his theory made real sense to me.

SisterCF, I agree with you 100%. this earth was not created for nothing, it was made to be inhabited by righteous mankind....and I am confident that Jehovah is going to bring to ruin, those ruining the earth.
Why would a landlord permit tenants to destroy his property without evicting them? The same with God....why permit others who show no appreciation for what you've done for them. ..to stay and destroy everything?
I hope it's soon! I am too sick and tired of all the foolishness that goes on in this system of things, it's enough to wear you out both physically and mentally.
