I recommend that you ensure a proper warm-down after each session. I have a brown belt in jiu-jitsu, and always ensure my students have a proper warm-up of stretching exercises and light jogging to warm the muscles up before we start each session, and a warm-down (mostly of stretching) after each session.
Diet will help - lots of water and fresh vegetables are a great accompaniment, but I think the main problem here is the lack of stretching of the muscle properly before and after training.
It will also just be due to the fact that you are starting a new form of exercise and your body needs time to adjust to it.

Make sure youre doing your stretches afterwards, and drink lots and lots of water. This will flush out most of the lactic acid build up in the muscles. A banana or two will also help provide your body with more potassium, though its not necessary. Once your muscles are conditioned the pain should not be as severe.
Some creams like icy hot can also sooth your aching muscles.

The first question I would ask if you are taking any medications. People on cholesterol lowering drugs like Lipitor or Crestor can develop rhabdomyolisis or muscle wasting. However, that is an extremely rare side effect and only 1 in 10,000 people on those drugs develop it. Are you drinking water with electrolytes. Drinking lots of plain water can make you hyponatremic and lower your sodium level which can can cause crampining.
