Would Jesus have singled out this institution as an evil in our time ?

Your question is,,..."If an economy is dependent on arms and weapons sales, will that nation prefer lasting peace of perpetual war. If the economy is dependent on such sales, then it has to have war, or at least have a market in the war torn area for sales. If the economy is dependent, then it must have sales.

Jesus would not single out this institution as evil, if the country has been attacked or was just defending its self, and this is only my opinion. I don't mean to propose that I have the mind of God, and know exactly what He would do. I have to use my best judgment as a Christian.

Economically they would prefer perpetual peace. Peace is prosperous, nation's economies are functional and they can afford to buy weapons. War disrupts economies and while the countries are destroying their weapons they are also destroying their purchasing power. War also destroys private wealth so the profits earned during peacetime are often lost by the arms dealers.

The ideal for arms manufacturers is perpetual peace with a perpetual threat of war and an unending arms race.
Kind of like the cold war years.
