i go to church on the occasion that my mom can drag me there. i hear her praying for me sometimes when i'm walking by her bedroom door too. at school, i don't act like a Christian, i swear, and play jokes on the teachers. i crash senior parties, stole my mom's car last month, thinking about doing the old firecrackers in metal mailbox again this weekend with my friends. sure, i believe there's a God, but i don't claim to serve him. He hasn't really done anything for me. I don't want to go to hell, but right now i just want to have fun. i don't do anything totally bad like drink, smoke, have sex, rob banks, etc. because i don't want a police record or a baby, i mean i still have a future ahead of me. but i've been having trouble figuring out what religion i am exactly. when people ask me, i just say i don't have one, and then everyone calls me atheist (which i'm not, and never will be. i never want to be associated with them EVER). thanks anybody for your help.

Do you know Jesus is God? It wasn't till I realized that, that my life changed.

Sounds like you are a mess. What are you going to do? Keep doing everything you want until you are satisfied? You can't be satisfied here. You will always need a little more, and a little more.

I am scared for you, because if living for yourself is all you have, then death is all you have to look forward to. Look at what God does, he makes a completely outward focus. He never is focused on him, but always focusing on us. Focus on God's will and he will come and make a home in you and start changing you.

You need to take up your cross and follow him.

Jesus said:
Mat 16:24 Then Jesus said to His disciples, "If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.

Deny yourself, and focus on God.

Rom 8:6 For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

First I have to ask, have you ever asked God into your heart?
Going to church does not make you anything. You have to sit down and think - I believe in God, I know he will take me no matter what I have done, I know that right now I am doing stupid things so will God still love me or will he throw me away? When you have answered those questions you move on to the next one's and this is where God gives us free will. When you have accepted Christ - you will know he forgives you for being in your words "confused, stupid, and uneducated". This is not an overnight process you are not going to go to bed and wake up and say ok no more being stupid and suddenly stop everything. Every christian or believer in Christ is stupid once in awhile. White lies, "social drinking" etc.. are all stupid acts. As far as serving him you need to understand that serving him is different for each person. Some are called to be preachers, nuns, etc. some are called to just be what they are but have the ability to say no to what is wrong and not be afraid to admit they are a christian. Serving God is so vast you would be suprised what you may already be doing for him. As far as what he has done for you think of it this way you have moral ideas that keep you out of trouble he has given you a mom who does pray for you so you have already more people who love you than you really know. If people keep asking what your religion is tell them I am still exploring my options and I will let you know. You don't have to answer to anyone but please take some time and talk to the right people - preacher, sunday school teacher, even a friend who truly has God in their heart and you will find out where you need to be.

I am sure you hv called yourself a Christain. Why are u hvg this defiance attitude? You r smart enough to know what wld be the outcome? Losing yr mum's trust and disappointing her. Not only that! You r risking yrself in getting into trouble that you regret. Dont play with fire. Esp. when u know s'thing is wrong and yet u still want to go ahead n try it. Dont u think it is foolish?

Being good will help u in the long run which u might not know it now. You will gain respect and trust from ppl. It doesnt mean as teenagers by doing wrong things only is called fun. You can still hv alot of fun doing the right things. Be prepared for the consequences ...

Did Jesus instruct that there may well be a resurrection? definite. He mentions it many times. John 5:28, 29; John 6:40; John 6:40 4. The apostle Paul taught this besides at Acts 24:15. He became into even being judged by utilising the Sadducees over his wish of the resurrection. Acts 23:6-8. Even human beings in hell get resurrected. Revelation 20:13. So the doctrine of the resurrection is firmly widespread in scripture, definite? Now if we 'return and forth to heaven or to hell' as quickly as we die, what desire is there of a resurrection? Resurrection is, it seems that, for lifeless human beings, authentic? So if some thing survives demise and is going to heaven, resurrection makes no sense, is it no longer? via fact that resurrection is what overcomes demise, then as quickly as we are lifeless, we are wakeful of genuinely no longer something, basically as Ecclesiastes says, authentic? So there is not any contradiction, is there? Hannah J Paul

I know you don't want to be told 'whatever you want to be' but come on! You don't need an education to realise that asking strangers online what religion you should be in one word is ridiculously stupid and totally pointless! If you don't believe in it yourself, then what's the point? Do you want to be dedicated to something you don't believe forever? And besides, what does it matter what religion you are right now? It sounds like the most important thing is for you and your mum to pick yourselves up and get over the loss of your father, and to figure out where you go from here. You've got the rest of your life to figure out what religion you are (if any) and when you're grieving is probably not the best time to try to figure it out! Do you really think it will help if someone gives you a definitive answer? OK, be Jedi...

Don't you see it doesn't matter what we say, you HAVE to figure it out for yourself, otherwise you might as well not bother!

Sweetheart - you can be any religion you like or make up your own. Seriously, you might check out a Unity Church, or the Church of Religious Science. Even read Mists of Avalon, before the male dominated Catholic and 'christian' churches came to be. Read, read, read.

The Goddess/God loves YOU. No matter what. You have a fresh and open mind, use it.

When you find the belief that suits you, you will know.

Don't worry about it now. Just be a teenager and have fun.
Remember - be kind to all. Treat them as you would like to be treated. And remember this - There is NO Hell!

Remember, that you are a product of your conditioned identity (you are capable of more than you imagine) and until you discover or remember what you love you will feel purposeless and interested in silliness. You are in no state to decide on a 'religion.' Your "thinking" brain will not be completely developed until you are about 25, so be patient with yourself and continue staying out of trouble. Heaven and hell are experienced only in the now. You seem to have enough self-control to avoid hell. Just consider your Mother. You have no right to cause her or anyone else to experience it because of your misadventures.

I can't tell you what religion you are or what you should be. I'm a Christian so obviously I believe that's the Truth but I can't make you believe it. I'd say pray to God (since you say you believe in a God) ask him what he wants you to be. It's his opinion you need not mine or anyone else's on here. But if you want to ask any questions about God or whatever, feel free to email me =]

Religion is man made.

I just read the King James Bible and go by that. I am of no denomination and feel very close to God. I talk to him often and quit swearing because it hurts him and draws him further away. The more I do for him in ways of keeping pure, the more I feel him there. I totally connect to God that way and he shows me everyday of his existence.

God is pure love and the only way to connect to him is to be like him. When you do connect spiritually, he will be able to bless you. He cannot bless those who choose to walk in darkness for the darkness cannot see the light.

Actually, its not a problem - we atheists would never want a judgemental person such as yourself amongst us.

Might as well call yourself a Christian - you sound like a typical one. (No offense to my Christian friends, who act nothing like this person.) Just keep blowing up mailboxes - which happens to be a federal crime...you'll have that record in no time!!
