Well um my bro is 18 and his room is like a dark blue with the batman symbol (he thinks batman is still cool) and things. But honestly at that age you need to make your room mature since your an adult then. Maybe a blue wall like a royal blue with some funky border, maybe zig zags if your spontanious or circles if your functional. Do them in a beige color. What color is your furniture. Some great storage is benchs foot stools with storage inside them. A closet with organizers in it is great. Also, WalMart has some storage things that are small and only 9 bucks. Either white or wood tone both paintable. Just go to like Home Depot or Walmart and look at colors you like. Then go to decor and look at bedding and other things. I built my room off my interests. It's a little different cuz ima girl and only 14. My room is yellow with a Island Shores blue on the accent wall and polka dots as border for accent wall and on my door. My bed is non existent, just a couch and loveseat that have penguin bedsheets on them with polkadots. Anyone can tell when they see my room i love polka dots and penguins also bright colors. Just look at what you like. Also, look at ratemyspace.hgtv.com
go to dorm rooms or boys rooms.
some great ideas and some sucky, but all you can build off of. Hope I helped.

Well my brother is 17 almost 18 and his room is all dark midnight blue. His carpet is cream with specks in it. And he has a dark blue couch in there also. It's really nice, too. You could prob. just go to a Home Depot or Lowes near you and find a color that you like!!!!

1] buy bedding and curtains first, in good colors.[ brown, blue, and cream will be great - and you won't gett ired of the colors.
2] then use color from bedding to pick wall colors [ cream blue, brown ]. Buy throw pillows for bed, and any chairs, in blue, brown, cream.
3] go thru clothing first. Set aside all too big, too small, too outdated, or too ugly for donation to your closest non profit.
Throw out holey, ragged, or torn items.
4] repeat with books, old toys, sports equipment, and whatever else you accumulate.
5] get underbed storage for out of season or sports equipment
6] put up shelf dividers on closet shelf [ stack sweaters, sweats, Tshirts, hats up there ]
7] get a shoe rack for floor of closet - put winter to summer shoes boots from left to right, with dressy in the back, and casual towards front
8] store everything you don't use everyday - cables, tickets [ used or new? ], bracelets in a wooden box [ for all jewelry - watches, neckchains, etc., fork goes back to kitchen!
9] use bottom drawer of desk for extra electronics like cables, etc.
10] middle drawer for paper, folders
11[ top drawer for pens, pencils, markers, scissors, staplers,
tape, post-its, etc.
12] a corkboard coveresd in a guy fabric or trimmed with blue or brown, will give a safe place for reminders, tickets to future events, etc.
13] get a tool box or shower caddy for all toiletries you use every day. Put the extras in a box, and store in closet or a drawer.
14] decorate walls with posters from favorite movies, albums, etc.
15] put all like clothing together in one drawer - undershirts, briefs/boxers, socks; exercise clothing; Ts, sweaters, sweats; then jeans; pajamas.
