We recently purchased a new home, and I'm having issues arranging the furniture in our master bedroom. The only two walls that I can place my bed in front of each have a 37" square window. My bed would be directly in front of the window. I'd really like to position the bed diagonally, but the room feels really cramped that way.

How can I either conceal or decorate around the window? I'm really at a loss. My headboard is 61" high and covers the bottom 12-14" of the window. I'd like to put something on the wall to completely cover the window, but I have no idea what to do so with. HELP! Here is a photo of my bed and coordinating furniture: http://www.vaughan-bassett.com/index.cfm/go/collections.show/collection/8/grandmas-treasures-collection.cfm

You could always replace the window with a short (18 inch or so) window where the bottom of it is above the headboard and rebuild the lower part of the wall (inside and out). But, that might cost more than you're willing to spend.

Otherwise, I would recommend putting up mini blinds or something that fits inside the window frame. That way, you can back the headboard all the way up to the wall and not have window coverings get in the way.

Well, I don't know if your male or female, but you should always play off a window, even if blocked. If your room is western, wrap rope around the windows trim and dress it up that way, if a female, fake ivy looks good. IDK>
