I just bought a light bulb from a hardware store. I always hear people talking about how you're supposed to screw in a light bulb, but I can't find any screws.

First, you have to cup it lightly....
Then you make sure that the male/female parts line up.
You push it easily as you begin to turn it until you see the light come on.
Be careful not to push to hard at first, you'd hate to have it explode in your hand.

Could cause bleeding!

I just find an atheist to prove there is no light while I screw in the light bulb myself. It doesn't actually speed up the process, but it does turn a mundane chore into a lively discission time.

Jack, The Nolte will be right over to help you with that screwing, but there won't be any light bulbs involved. Unless, of course, you're into that sorta thing.

Whatever you do, make sure you screw it gently. Male to female, but not too rough. If you break it, you can't get it on. Then flick the switch, and there should be a glowing from the bulb.

If there isn't, walk away. This is the time for a traditional man to deny it was ever him who screwed it.

Oh, Jack. I thought we went over this already. Forget about the screws and slather lots of petroleum jelly on the tip. That way you won't be so tender in the morning! Do I have to demonstrate again?

How about you just return the light bulb and stick with candles instead.

Oh jack have I not taught you anything first you make sure it's the right size then you slowly insert it and starting slowly working it in being screwing and voila you should soon have it all the way in, you'll know it has worked when it gets pretty hot. lol

Very carefully is usually the best method. You don't want it to explode in your hand.
