What are bit torrents and what do you use them for?

what do you need them for? I have no clue? Even so I know computers very well.

bit torrent files are a user to user system
people upload a file and then u download it from all the people that have that file
the files download in a bit torrent program like azerus(what i use), utorrent, and others
the files are downloaded in pieces from the group unlike other programs that download the file in order
i like it its better
ive downloaded entire shows over 40GB
u can find music, movies, shows, adult stuff (U know) whatever
i just search on yahoo (what im looking for-torrent) and stuff will pop up

Bit torrent sites are websites one can download torrents from. Basically, instead of using Limewire or Kazaa, you are directly downloading movies, games, music etc. from websites.

however, no websites would have large enough bandwith to suport terabytes of movies. As a result, these movies can be dowloaded using softwares such a Bit Comet.
- first of all, download Bit comet software by searching on google and install it in your computer
- then what you do is go to bittorent site, click download on the torrent you would like
- Then a pop up shows up and you click open. and then bitcomet software automatically takes over from there and starts downloading at the location specified in the computer

Its another form of p2p file sharing that requires a program to be installed to convert the files to the real format. Kinda like Limewire and Gnutella. Alot of viruses are involved. Stay away!

torrents are pack of information. these torrents are usually in file form and contain different information.. you could download.. say.. the simpsons season 1.. and you just have to click on one thing, and it downloads the folder.. once it's downloaded you have that folder on your computer (along with everything in it..) so instead of downloading each individual episode, all you have to dl is one. and instead of having to unzip something it's usually in it's regular format so you can see whats inside it and also virus check if you so desire..

Torrents are illegal pirated software. You download them with programs so you can get software and games for free. I do not suggest using them unless you want to run the risk of getting caught.
