>>>Catholics do you carry a crucifix pendant?<<<

I don't myself, but I know other Catholics who do.

>>>do you kiss it and pray to it?<<<

If I carried one, I would not kiss it.

Nor would I pray to it, because that would be an act of idolatry and thus against our religion. We pray only to God.

Yes, I have a crucifix pendant. But I pray to God, not to the pendant. I also have a crucifix in my home. I personally feel that the crucifix is an extremely powerful symbol of Christ's sacrifice. However, the focus is upon Christ, and not on the crucifix itself.

Come on people....please! Yes, we wear crucifix pendants and some people hold it while they pray and even kiss it. But they are kissing what it REPRESENTS! Everyone knows that the necklace is not God. That's RIDICULOUS. Have you ever kissed a picture of your child or your lost loved one? Don't you know that is not your actual child?

I have strayed from my Catholic faith, my thoughts about God seem to be confused, I love everything about it, it's just as beautiful as heaven and God sound, I can't help but think he doesn't exist, but I still do kiss and pray to the crucifix and also carry my fathers rosary, he passed almost 3 years ago and was very devout in his faith, so I think I do it because of him, and in hopes maybe God does exist. I would like to think more positively about God, but theres a feeling inside that tells me he just isn't there. I know it's weird!

Some of us do, some don't. We kiss it and pray "to it" because it is a symbol of our faith and something to focus on. It's easier to pray while looking at a christian symbol than trying to envision God standing next to you.

That does not necissarily mean it's impossible to do the latter. I do it all the time.
