I'm looking for a good father/daughter song for my bride to be and her father. We are doing a Disney themed wedding and we have picked out good ideas for all the other music at the reception, but we can not think of a good father/daughter song. Help is greatly appreciated and thank you in advance!

Our first dance is going to be "Remember the Magic" by Brian McKnight they used it for the 25th anniversary at Walt Disney World

The Mother/Son dance is "Circle of Life" by Elton John my mom loves that movie and that song.

I would say "tale as old as time" from beauty and the beast or "colors of the wind" from pocahontas. Good luck!

There is a song from the original Disney Peter Pan movie years ago called "The Second Star to The Right". It's not really about father and daughter, but it could easily be taken as the father being the star guiding her:

The second star to the right
Shines in the night for you
To tell you that the dreams you plan
Really can come true
The second star to the right
Shines with a light that's rare
And if it's Never Land you need
It's light will lead you there
Twinkle, twinkle little star
So I'll know where you are
Gleaming in the skies above
Lead me to the one who loves me
And when you bring him my way
Each time we say "Goodnight"
We'll thank the little star that shines
The second from the right

It has been recorded by different people, but my favorite version is the one Scott Hamilton skated to in one of those Christmas on Ice specials years ago. I think he actually did the vocals on it. I've looked for it just because I love it, but I haven't found it. If you can find it, it would be a great choice. Or get someone you know who sings well to record it - or, what about if her dad recorded it? That would be a great memory!

I think "You'll be in my heart" from Tarzan would be a perfect Father/Daughter Dance Song.

We just got married on September 29, 2007. We had a Walt Disney World Honeymoon. It was wonderful!!

Does it have to be Disney themed?

Almost any song about the beauty of life can be a sweet father/daughter song.
-When You Wish Upon a Star
-Circle of Life

"Love", from Disney's Robin Hood, has very fitting lyrics:

It seems like only yesterday
You were just a child at play
Now you're all grown up inside of me
Oh, how fast those moments flee
Once we watched a lazy world go by
Now the days seem to fly
Life is brief, but when it's gone
Love goes on and on
Love will live
Love will last
Love goes on and on and on
Once we watched a lazy world go by
Now the days seem to fly
Life is brief, but when it's gone
Love goes on and on

Good luck choosing your songs. That sounds like such a fun theme for a wedding!

One of theThe Wild Thornberries movies had a song that went 'there was never a father who loved his daughter as much as I love you'

It's Nickalodean rather than Disney tho

how about We are One from the lion king 2 here are the lyrics I love that song

Simba

Kiara

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As you go through life you'll see
There is so much that we
Don't understand

And the only thing we know
Is things don't always go
The way we planned

But you'll see every day
That we'll never turn away
When it seems all your dreams come undone

We will stand by your side
Filled with hope and filled with pride
We are more than we are
We are one

If there's so much I must be
Can I still just be me
The way I am?

Can I trust in my own heart
Or am I just one part
Of some big plan?

Even those who are gone
Are with us as we go on
Your journey has only begun

Tears of pain, tears of joy
One thing nothing can destroy
Is our pride, deep inside
We are one

We are one, you and I
We are like the earth and sky
One family under the sun

All the wisdom to lead
All the courage that you need
You will find when you see
We are one
