Yes, I know for a fact that they could, because my husband was a shy guy who didn't like bringing attention to himself in public. He is still reserved, but not nearly as shy as he used to be. He is a lot more open in private - and in bed - wooooh! He is like a different person. He really likes to express himself. He is tall and built and works out all the time, too, so he is loads of fun. If you asked this question because you are hesitating about a guy you think will be as reserved in private as he is in public, but you really like him, be patient, give him a chance and let him feel safe. He might pleasantly surprise you.

More or less, yes. Most women will say "I want someone who's assertive, not aggressive", but the fact is MOST desirable single women for never married bachelors today (mid 20's to early 30's, single, not previously married, no children, and in shape physically) are dating men who are yes, assertive, confident, and decisive-BUT at the same time are aggressive a**holes, which most women are willing to forgive because the other 80% of him is what they want. Assertiveness and the bad boy persona is what attracts young, single, attractive women today. In other words-a shy, decent looking, well-dressed, drives a nice car, has a good career with a good income guy? He'll lose out to an assertive guy who's out of shape and below average looking, who's the self-employed type. Thus the high divorce rate. Assertiveness and being a bad boy doesn't pay the bills and feed the kids.
