When putting down the Atkins Diet, everyone will focus on the big slab of greasy beef that people automatically think of. As some one who was on the Aitkins for 2 years, I NEVER ate like that. You focus on eating carbs. That means no bread, crackers, corn, potatoes, rice, pasta, grains, fruts, most vegitables and sugar. But this is only for a limited time period. After that you can SLOWLY add small amounts of unrefined carbs (vegitables whole grains). I ate mostly fish, chicken, lots of salads, crustless quiesh, and even taught myself how to make a very low carb pizza. There are plenty of cook books out there that draw the focus away from the greasy 2" thick cheese burger with the bacon and no bun. You don't eat that way on the Atkins diet. I will say the one thing that saved me in the snacking department, pork rinds. I have never been a big sweets person and alwys loved my Doritos. The pork rinds saved me!

If you google Atkins Diet you should get the Diet web site. Don't listen to everyone. It does not have to be a high fat diet.

You can eat meat, especially red meat, real butter, cheese, eggs. Things that are might be higher in fat and calories but lower in carbs.

Now with that said, watch the labels on processed meats (i.e. some lunch meats, hot dogs, sausage) some meats that are really processed do have carbs in them, more carbs then what people think.

You can also have some vegetables but you really have to watch the fruits, they tend to be higher in carbs.

But remember...there is a difference between good carbs and bad carbs dont limit yourself to much, your body and brain does need good carbs

It's a dangerous diet. Plus you'll have bad breath, awful skin and constipation problems. Find another way to lose weight safely.

Sausages, Burgers, Ham, Cheese. Infact sounds good, I might try it! Do you think I will lose weight eating 350 sausages a day?

Why bother going on this stupid diet?

It's no good for your liver, kidneys and heart......and look at Atkins himself - he died 'morbidly obese'. What a joke of a diet!
