Marco Polo was an explorer who went to China, a country no western had went to before. He was there for over 20 years. This happened in the late 1200 century. He also went to some other Asian countries.

He was a Western traveler who is famous for his travel through China and some of Asia. He traveled for like 24 years i believe it was and logged about it all and made it into a book. From the late 1200's. Yah and for some reason his name was linked into that swimming pool game kids play.
