It can kill humans and animals, if the shot placement is right.

No Way. Do not even try to shoot at a coyote with that 760. I had one of those handy little rifles for 4 years, and never shot anything bigger than a chipmunk. Not lethal, or ethical enough to shoot and animal of that size with.

What you need for your purpose is not a pellet gun, but a 22 Hornet, 218 Bee, 222, 22-250 .* These are Varmint calibers made for that situation.*

The pellet gun won't do the job. You need a firearm in a varmint caliber. 223 comes to mind immediately, there are other calibers that will work too. 223 is probably going to be the most common of the varmint calibers and finding something you like chambered in it will be easy.

I doubt it will kill a coyote, unless you hit it exactly in the temple, where it can enter the brain.
It would most likely take time for this and not be an instant kill.
The pellet gun you mentioned will kill a rabbit, squirrel, or small bird though, and is dangerous to shoot at people, dogs and cats (as mentioned a properly placed shot {or accident} can cause death, but usually will take time to occur)

All I can picture in my mind is you having a showdown with "Black Bart" using your trusty Red Ryder with a compass in the stock and a thing that tells time.
You would be much better off if you could get close enough to whack him with it than you would trying to shoot him.
That butt stock hurts when you are getting beaten over the head with it, trust me.
Otherwise, his coat would pretty much stop any impact that thing could offer.

NO...No way will a Crosman 760 bring down a Coyote. Leave this to the Professional that is trained and equipped to handle this problem. It's his responsibility to resolve this, not yours....This shows incredibly poor judgement on your part, and won't resolve this situation....only make it worse.

It pro bally would kill him if he turned into a rat before the pellet hit him.lol--Better play a loud tape of Brittany Spears and drive it away, probally would think it is rabbit with a broken leg. -Enough of them pellets will give him a good back scratch and perhaps he will go away happy.

If a coyote is in your yard, call the police or sheriff. They will get animal control there.

It won't kill him unless by chance he got an infection.
I would probably shoot it in the gut or rear end and yell at it. That's probably enough to keep him out for a while.
Rimfire or shotgun would be better if you had one and it was safe to shoot.
